Can you believe this!
I never knew such a thing ever occurred but to learn it still went on in parts of the Western world as late as the fifties is quite horrific!

We still have a human zoo in Britain - it's called the House of Commons.

I think of our government as more of a "circus,' with our elected officials jumping through hoops at the behest of their corporate sponsors.
