Another way to force yourself out of bed: Get a loud alarm clock, and place it on the other side of the room. That way you have to get out of bed anywho. Or get one that is complicated to turn off.(I had one on my computer, and I had to turn the monitor on, and actually find the off/snooze button onscreen to get it to turn off. this got my brain rolling somewhat.)
My cousin eventually progressed to a firebell that went off every morning at 7 a.m. - which she slept through. The neighbours were mightily annoyed.
Somebody invented a clock that *walks* - I remember now, it was an Engineering project that made the papers, don't know if it's on the market - you hit Snooze and it stops ringing and also "walks" about 3 feet at random angles. When it goes off again, you don't know where it is. You have to crawl out of bed and look for it. You hit Snooze again, go back to sleep. Ten minutes later it starts ringing again, and it has moved another 3 feet at random angles, and you have to search for it again. The alarm clock from hell. It should come with a matching hammer.
