I never cared for watching "important" games on TV.

Watch this video and you can honestly tell people that you watched football tonight.

Hate football with a passion. Spend a majority of your childhood in the south and indifference to a sport can become much, much more........

Every football game looks the same and goes on way too long. Boring.

Parts of childhood, yes, nothing that involves football though.

I lived in the south till I was about 28 or 29. I know what you mean; they are pretty obsessed with it. I never liked sports & i never watch any on TV unless cheerleading & dance squad competitions count & that was for perverted reasons.

The football obsession goes as far north as Ohio and Pennsylvania.

There's an obsession with COLLEGE football in those parts of the United States.

I like pro football better than college football (though I'm a Notre Dame fan).

I watched Super Bowl III when Joe Namath defeated Johnny Unitas!

I used to play football as a kid. I was a fat kid--so it was hard to tackle me!

I found out apparently about 111,900,000 people watched the recent Super Bowl. There are about 318,900,000 people in the USA. So only 35% of people watched it, and if you didn't watch it, you're actually in the majority. So don't feel too weird.

There's always a sports obsession somewhere. But when you're one of only two kids that play soccer (in the '70s) in a football school (State champs all the time and national champs a lot, back then) it was just one more strike on the art/drama/geek.

Went to a school once that wanted me to play football one year. I got my growth spurt early so they thought I was going to be huge. The next year, they were all bigger. Between 15 and 24 I only grew 1.5 inches.

You stopped growing at 24? I stopped when I was 17. Ended up 5 foot 4.75 inches. I would had been 5 foot 3 with a normal-sized head.

Yeah...it was weird. At 12 I was 5' even. At 13, 5'7". The last measurement that did not change was 24. That was 5' 8 1/2". /Took me 11 years to grow that extra 1 1/2 inches. My parents did not mind though. They only had a short time of the massive clothes changes. They still had those grocery bills though. I was voracious in my teen years.

I concur vehemently. I decorate cakes at Walmart and have been stuck spending the past week making Broncos themed cakes and orange and blue cupcakes until they came out of my freaking ears (I live in Colorado, so you can imagine the mayhem). I even had to stay late one night because all the ones we'd put out had been bought, so I didn't get home until midnight. I went over to my sister's boyfriend's/my mom's best friend's house with my family on Sunday and had to sit around for four hours listening to the husbands yell and scream at the TV. I brought my computer, but after coming off a nine-hour shift that started at 7 AM, which involved fending off hordes of blue and orange cupcake-obsessed people, my sensory and social limits were exhausted. I used to be indifferent to football, and found those who enjoy it rather boring to talk to, but I now officially hate it. After all the effort I put in at work, I was starting to wish the Broncos would lose out of spite, because I was so fed up with it all.

I guess if you haven't played the game much, you wouldn't see the reasoning why people would like football. I grew up playing the game (not well, usually), and enjoyed just playing the game without talking to anybody.

Yeah...football fandom breeds idiocy sometimes!

But I stay away from that stuff, and just enjoy the game itself

I liked it better when players used to just PLAY, rather than act like idiots after every play.
