I looking to buy a newer used pick-up (prefer foreign made-Toyota, Mazda, Isuzu, etc.
Can anyone recommend a particular brand?

Dunno, but my '94 dodge 1500 has 222000 miles and runs great.

I'd get a Dodge.

Mazda is not a foreign-made truck. It's a very thinly-disguised Ford Ranger with little cosmetic tweaks. Isuzus are rebadged Chevy S-10s (now Colorados), so they're out too.

I think Toyota and Nissan are your only real choices for small imported late-model used truck.

Hey, me too! Ford Ranger to be precise. I can't complain about it, it's always worked, never breaks down, even though it's more than a decade old. Those little Mazda pickups seem pretty similar.

Good man going with a pickup.

I always thought that they looked almost exactly like Rangers. but they are, technically speaking, foreign made, aren't they?

Nope. Some engines and transmissions may be imported, but the Ranger and B-Series are American-designed and built in St. Paul, Minnesota...'til the plant closes next year, at which time the Ranger may be gone forever.
