How did you choose, bought glasses?

I want to buy 2 pairs of glasses : sunglasses and for sight. Looked in different shops, found nothing suitable. Therefore I will order online. On what criteria is it better to choose? what now fashionably? What glasses do you have?

It would be desirable to talk, know your opinions and preferences.

I have a couple of seeing ones. Both have a small colored tint so I can wear them outside in the sun to some extent.

Price and if they fit my head was how I chose (look down and shake your head around, and if they don't fall off, you're good). Price means cheap, though "cheap" needn't mean poor quality.

I need a 140 temple length and most shops only have a handful of frames with arms that long. I also looked online, but didn't find anything I liked online with 140 temples. I went to more than a dozen shops all over town until I went to one that had quite a large selection of 140's compared to the others, and a few different brands no one else carried. I tried on every 140 I could find until I found the one pair that fit and looked great, then ordered them.

I'd rather go shop to shop all over town and try everything on in person vs. buy online and risk not liking them and having to send them back and start the whole process over again.

Metal frame and good fit. I have two pairs of glasses; a pair of safety glasses and a regular old pair of glasses. I had a pair of prescription sunglasses that I used until they wore out, I just haven't bothered to replace them. I've never bought them online though; it's nice to physically try on a pair before putting the money down.

I'm well overdue for a new pair of glasses (had my current ones for 10+ years) but I just couldn't pick out any frames that looked good on me. I'm thinking about contacts instead.

Consider blue light protection in the lenses, it will protect your eyes if you look at monitor screens or smartphones often.

I had trouble picking my current glasses. The eye doctor I go to doesn't have a huge selection as they are a smaller place. I wanted to get Transitions because I always forget my sunglasses when going places, but my doctor suggested that I shouldn't. I have just a plain pair of over-regular-glasses sunglasses I bought at a drugstore and they are perfect for me. I do have the anti-reflective coating on mine because I look at a computer screen all the time.

You can buy mounts on Internet, but you don't want to buy your lenses on Internet. You need to test them before buying them, or your vision will remain slightly blurred, especially if you need strong corrective lenses.

I hate wearing glasses, however since I have to wear them most of the time I want something fashionable. I usually keep my glasses for several years - I know I should get my eyes checked more often. Anyway, I always choose black frames that are somewhat thick. Some of you may laugh, but I was wearing "cat eye" glasses from Chanel and I loved those glasses and got many compliments. Name brand is very important to me.

This time I went black frames again and they didn't carry Chanel so I went with Prada. I actually found a picture of them :



They are a little heavy, but I like my glasses to have some weight to them. I've received many compliments from these as well. I still hate wearing glasses.

I laugh at this, but the sales guy thought I looked great in these black cat eye glasses from Versace (they keep wanting me to wear cat eye glasses!) . My thought was, why would I want some glasses from a designer who is no longer with us? Sad, but true, and I was thinking that I know Versace didn't give the ok on those glasses. I don't like people making money off of someone who is dead.
