are rec centers cool?

do you attend any? in my quest to make friends and stop drinking my mother has sugjested a rec center. naturally i like baskettball and airhockey, but arent rec centers like the boys and girls club? i cant feel like a weenie when i roll up in the place to shoot some hoops.

I've no idea about rec centers, but wouldn't school (college) work for you? You could make friends there, if you want, and it would give you something to do so you wouldn't feel the need to kill time & consciousness by drinking beer.

well i just remember school being a flipping nitemare, id imagine college is no different. plus ive been on college campuses, i have absolutely nothing in common with anyone there, belive me. i guess i should make some friends with some senior citizens

College is not like high school. People are oriented towards their individual goals, just like you would be. The pack mentality that horrifies us is largely absent (or hidden from sight, at least). And if you think carefully about which classes you pick, you will find people you have something in common with, i.e. shared interests.

well i had a great time at the rec center, i met some dude named joseph and we played horse. i'll probably be seeking friendships there.

now on to bigger and better things, on the way home i stoped in at this store that sells metorites, guess what i bought one OMG!
its one of the best things to have happend to me EVER. a piece of space! 286 grams of love!

How do you know it is genuine?
That don't look like space rock to me.

Well I'm not too sure what a space rock would actually look like, but I would like to know how you know if it is genuine. What do you need to look for? Or maybe there is a museum you can take it to to get it checked out.

Very cool if it is genuine. I find such things fascinating. Used to collect rocks and stones of various kinds.

how do i know its geniune? dude you can look up canyon diablo meterotites on the internet. its an iron nickel, i guess if youve never seen one youd think it was fake too. but its not, its real

The only recreational centers my mom and I know of are completely ghetto. And if you go into one of those little town ones, everyone's extremely snobby. So yeah, I'm pretty much screwed.

Well, there are three rec centers in the city near us, but my peers refer to them as "Gyms", because of the basketball courts. And they think that if the court's closed, the entire rec center's closed. I don't really like rec centers. Maybe if they had some video games...
