I am being slammed with ads by two products I tried for first time yesterday. Bought for first time yesterday and picked up at random, not coupon or clickbait.

One was Snack Factory Cocoa covered pretzel thins
other was a beauty product .




Now every forum mentions these things to me and facebook too.


I feel so paranoid. Did my name and my google wallet connect me to a purchase made with that VISAcard at random at WalMArt

Yes, it's very likely. Everything you do online is recorded somewhere, and any online purchases associated with your name are not only recorded, but they're dissected, analyzed, and exploited in what are called "targeted ads" that are custom-made specifically for you. It is also likely that your purchases receive the same treatment - but more intense - from the NSA and other government agencies on the presumption that what you purchase could be used to construct an IED.

(You haven't bought any alarm clocks lately, have you?)

Not only that, but if you use the same credit card later in a brick-and-mortar store, that transaction receives the same treatment. The same goes for those "club cards" you use to get lower prices at the grocery and big-box stores.

I never use my credit card except in emergencies. All of my online purchases are made through a friend who doesn't mind all of those ads. I never apply for a "club card", and I pay in cash whenever possible - it's untraceable, and accepted everywhere. Paying in cash also gets me discounts at some gas stations.

Sure credit cards are supposed to be more convenient, but for whom?

On a couple of recent occasions I've tried using a Linux Knoppix operating system on a USB flash drive, on which the Firefox browser incorporates 'Adblock Plus' and 'Foxy Proxy' (which allows access to TOR). Even though I haven't enabled the latter facility, I've still noticed that it's impossible to log into WP using this device. There is presumably a causal relationship at work here....

That's to prevent banned members from trying to use a proxy for a new account.

google and amazon think im a woman i get catagories and adverts for things such as:

womens clothes

clothes for him

womens cleaning products

gifts for him


i tried googling football and other manly things but no, google and amazon won't be fooled, im apparently a woman and always will be.......damn it

its done through tracking cookies, the website will usually say somewhere something like "by continuing using this website, you consent to tracking cookies" they monitor your activity and advertise accordingly. im always looking up video games so im not sure where it got this idea from as i haven't done anything specifically feminine or masculine.
