I need you to take a picture of your shadow using your cellphone so that the shadows of your arm, hand and cellphone are visible in the picture. Please send the picture to alex@wrongplanet.net and you could be selected to get a monetary prize.

Is that why you haven't been online very much?

How many of us can't help because we don't have a cell phone?
I would be in that category.

I have a cell phone,, but it doesn't have a camera in it. Are camera phones really so common where you live that you can assume everyone has one??

I think it's safe to say that there are fewer cell phones among the AS population than the general population.

At the very least, I think he can safely assume that this will be read by quite a few people who have one.

I need mine for when I go to uni incase I need to ring my mum.
So I think a lot of people with AS will have them for necessary things like that, even if we don't all use them as much as most.

Sorry, can't help. I have a non-camera mobile 'phone; rarely used (supposed to be in case of emergency for the family); perhaps if I remembered to switch it on?

Michaelmas

PS good luck with the project - do you belong to any non-AS sites - a request almost anywhere else would be rather more productive

PPS eternal gratitude for founding this site - it has become a home from home for me

most people have camera phones.

Is that a fact, or an opinion?

I think you have a small sample error. A lot of the people you know may have them, but that doesn't mean your estimate can apply to the average Wrong Planet user.

Of my 20 closest professional and friendly acquaintances (yes I actually worked this out), four have camera phones. Three have Blackberries without cameras. Four carry no cell phone at all. I'm not talking about country bumpkins or octogenarians, here. If anything, my sample of people should be more likely to have camera phones. Almost all of them have undergraduate degrees or better, are between the ages of 20 and 65, and live in Canada. Most of these people are in their twenties, and maybe half of them work in the computer industry and live in Vancouver or Toronto.
