Anyone notice certain themes and motifs in your life? I do and I wonder if these are what was in mind when gnostics talked and wrote about Aeons. One particular Aeon in my life appears in the form of inebriated individuals. I am a magnet for them. Intoxication would be the name of this particular Aeon.

I think the word you're looking for is archetype. Aeons in the gnostic sense, if I understand them correctly, were aspects of God in the way that the ten sephira of the Tree of Life are masculine and feminine aspects of God each with their own divine names. That's a much more primal and broad concept or group of concepts than a specific idea (such as the 'wise old man' or 'the village drunk') or the personification and caricature of that idea.

(edit: rofl - why is this in Random Discussion now?.....)
