I don't get any trick-or-treaters, so no. But that's fine because I can't hear people knocking at my door, and the doorbell doesn't work and my landlord said It can't be fixed, and I really don't want to trudge up and down the stairs every few minutes. They'd probably leave by the time I'd get there.

My parents get hardly any trick-or-treaters where they live either. Guess there aren't many kids left living there anymore, they all grew up and moved away like I eventually did. When I was a kid there were lots of trick-or-treaters.

Yep, I did. There weren't as many kids this year, but our homeowners association threw a halloween party for them on the weekend, so I suspect the kids who went to the party didn't come out for candy tonight.

And now I have a whole bag of mini Hershey bars to dispose of... oh the horror, the horror

I've had 23 so far...about 8 less than last year, but it's really cold out, and there aren't a lot of kids around where I live.

I have really bad social anxiety, so I don't (plus my costume that I had planned for this year would probably be too scary for little kids). My mom did, though. She says we got about a hundred trick-or-treaters.

I've never done that. My parents used to but they live on a major highway a ways from the road in a rural town with no sidewalks so about the only people who ever used to trick-R-treat there were neighbors kids & they all grew up a long time ago. People trick-R-treat where I live now but I didn't because me & my girlfriend don't have much money to spend on candy to give away, it's a hassle waiting around downstairs, my girlfriend has anxiety issues & it's less stressful for her not to answer the door for strangers. There were a couple knocks at our door today but that may of been because the light in the livingroom was on even thou the porch light was off. We usually have those lights off but the livingroom light was on cuz my girlfriend had recently got back from doing grocery shopping with her parents. I'm not sure if the livingroom light had anything to do with it thou. We ignored the knocks.

Never did. :| Even at costume parties.

Right now, there's a storm came by. :x I bet there's a LOT of ruined family lunch/dinner/camping back at the cemeteries involving mud and a lot of soaked items.

And, I'd imagine if trick or treating is the thing or way of celebration right here and right now, it involves with a lot of ruined make ups and costumes, covered by rain boots, raincoats and umbrellas, and oh, cough and cold. :?

In my community, trick or treating is pretty rare. When I was a kid, we only went trick or treating at my grandmother's house who lived across the field from us.

The only time I ever got more than a couple pieces of Halloween candy was when I was at a college basketball game on Halloween night of 1995. I was standing there when some college girl who worked for the athletic department handed a bag of candy to everyone who showed up to watch the game.

When I lived in the Houston area for a while, I passed out candy one Halloween. I didn't waste the kid's time going up and knocking on the door -- I just hung the bag on the back of my pickup with a sign that told them to take what they wanted.

In the nearby town one year, a co-worker's adult son had the perfect scheme. He borrowed a safety harness from me and suspended himself from his front porch with it. He was dressed up to look like a western bad guy and had a huge fake noose around his neck. There was a small table with a bunch of Halloween candy on it. When the kids who had some nerve would walk up and nervously take some candy off the table, he'd reach over and tap them on the shoulder. Many kids wouldn't even go to the house when they saw him hanging there from the porch.

Speaking of college kids, I knew some a few years ago who put on costumes and would go up to the doors of other college students and when they came to the door would shout "TRICK OR BEER".

I've done it. I pretended to care about the costumes the kids wore. I even said they were cute. I'd prefer to leave a bowl of candy outside the door and not have to do all that though. But when you leave a bucket, the first kid or first few kids take all the candy.
