HURRAY someone with an interest in warships. I am 100% familiar with the story of the Bismarck. Perhaps we can swap knowledge with one another? By the way, the Hiryu picture, was that right b4 her sinking at Midway?

I don't think I'm obsessed but I often fantasize about owning a pucara. Battleships are boring to me though.

Praetor2379: The Hiryu is under attack by Boeing B-17's as you can see they all miss so yes that was before she was destroyed.

Phssthpok: I wish i owned the Hiryu

I studied WW II pretty well about 30 years ago and still love this war stuff.

My fave warbird: North American Aviation's P 51 Mustang. Not only the allies best, and a war outcome changing airplane but also my maternal grandmother did final cockpit wiring - probably every "D" that left Inglewood. She stayed with NAA until she retired in the sixties.

She took family to NAA facility where she showed us mockup of B 70 and told of its marvels.

I also like: P 38, Hellcat, FW 190, DO 335, Bf 109, Me 163, He 111, He 219, Spit, Hurricane, B 24, B 29, Ki 84. . .

And what about Deutschland's final subs, like Type XXI, cool boats.

And Yamato!
