If a person wanted to help you with the trash & other things, cuz she caring, nice & a good person. I don’t ask her to do alot of things, sometimes she clean my apartment for money, she cleans people houses. At first, she wanted to help me with taking out my trash, months later, she now wants money, she never told me this before. Is she right? She was the one who offered to help me out.

If she made the offer under the pretense of helping in such a way that she indicated she did not expect monetary compensation, and you had not indicated in any way that you intended to pay her for her services, and now she is coming back and expecting to be paid for those services already rendered, I do not believe you owe her any money.

There was a lady in the news years ago who would break into people's houses, clean them, and then demand payment. She didn't get it.

She cleans your apartment for money?

I suppose it doesn’t look nice for her to ask for money for taking out the trash when she wasn’t asking before. She was doing it out of the goodness of her heart.

I’m wondering if she actually needs money. I’m wondering what her motivation is.

I feel you should take out your own trash, and keep on paying her to clean your house.

Yeah.. hard to know if she's trying to take advantage of you OR if it was a misunderstanding right from the beginning and she was under the impression it was paid work vs. helpful volunteering.

If no $ was ever discussed, she'd be in the wrong for assuming that you were on the same page and that you fully expected to be paying for her services.

That's a conversation you have to have with her. Say "Look, there seems to be some confusion over our business arrangement. I agreed to pay you for your apartment cleaning services, but we never discussed anything of the sort for taking out the trash etc" It may be the only way to clear the air over this.. especially if she knows you need clear concise communication.

Now, in her defence, if she was in the middle of doing paid work cleaning up your apartment and asked if you'd also like her to take out the trash, then it's entirely fair of her to assume you would realize she was up-selling another additional paid service. However, she should have also then followed up with something like "I do have time to take out the trash, I'll just add $x to your bill," and then you'd have definitely both been on the same page about compensation.
