Anyone ever had a problem with "r" or "l" sounds?

I used to have a pwobwem with both those sounds. I'd say them like a "w".

i never had any speech problems.


that's why i had speech therapy for 13 years.

I have problems with S and Z and soft C and CH and ST sounds.
I can't hear them so I have to guess and fill in the gap.

If I say an S or Z sound now it's a sharp hiss.
I blame all the "sizzling sausages" from speech therapy.

Sometimes I think I hear sounds that aren't there too.
Like, often it seems like words end with a P or K sound when they don't.

I had problems with Rs when I was a kid. I would say it with a W and I would say arw instead of just are for the letter R.

I had problems with forming lots of sounds when I was little and had to have a lot of speech therapy. There are still some combinations of sounds that I find really difficult and there are certain words that I have a problem with as a result. "Prescription" is particularly difficult for me which is annoying every time I have to go to the chemists to collect mine, and "repeat prescription" I find almost impossible unless I say it really slowly.

My sister's Rs were Ws for a long time. I've never had that problem. But I do get words mixed up, backwards sometimes and I have a light stutter that most people don't notice.

I say "Woad Rerk" instead of "Road Work."

To a Chinese person, the "r" and the "l" are the same phoneme (sound). That's why they sometimes say "Flied Lice" instead of "fried rice."

Yes. I have a speech impediment and there are a lot of sounds I just cannot say. It's why I can't even say my birth name. I had some speech therapy in school, but it didn't help me too much.
