Do you forget people's faces? Is this this normal or have to do with Aspergers?

It's a specific condition often associated with Aspergers/Autism. It goes by the strange name prosopagnosia:

I have a hard time with both but I have a rare low vision disorder on top of prosopagnosia & i get names confused & mixed up maybe due to my dyslexia.

I'm also bad at remembering street names. When I go walking I find my way around by remembering landmarks more than signs.

I'm very bad with recognizing people. If I meet someone once or at most a few times, I could see them in public at a later date and it won't register to me who they are or that they even seem familiar to me. Especially if they're even slightly different in appearance, like a different haircut, different glasses, etc. Then, forget it.

There was a woman that worked in my office for about six months then quit. About six months after she quit, she stopped back in to say hello to one of my coworkers and then stood in the doorway of my office and said hello to me. I said hello back and she left. I assumed she was a traveling salesperson trying to sell us something. I believed I had never seen her before. The only difference? She changed her makeup and was wearing more of it.

I wouldn't recognize my own mother if I bumped into her somewhere unexpected.

It's quite common among people with Asperger's/Autism. The opposite happens to me though, I tend to remember most faces pretty well.
