Thirteenth grade

Some high schools in Oregon apparently offer a thirteenth grade. Can you imagine going to high school for five years? They claim having a thirteenth grade benefits the students in preparing for college.

4 years was already too long for me. Hated high school.

I enjoyed high school myself. Still I wouldn't want to have gone for an extra year.

I was already taking college level courses in high school.

When I went to high school you could graduate at the end of grade 12 or continue to grade 13. In Canada our college and university systems are a bit different than in the US. Before, if you wanted to go to university you needed grade 13. You only needed 12 for college. Now, we don’t have grade 13 and can enter college or university after 12. I did grade 13.

I hated skewl in general & the only reason I finished 4 years of high-skewl is cuz my parents refused to let me drop out insisting that having a high-skewl diploma would help me in my job search. I call total bull sh!t on that cuz no job applications I ever filled out ever asked me about having a high-skewl diploma or GED. There's a spot for college & not having a college degree puts me in the same category as someone who doesn't have a GED even thou I have a diploma.

Sounds like bad luck.

If people is this day and age are too superstitious to go onto a floor marked 13 in a building, they'll probably be too superstitious to take a 13th grade. Especially during Smarch 13th.
