On the Processing of Mathematics
For the purpose of providing some background information which is pertinent to this topic, I mention that I have since I graduated from high school been a professional mathematician.
I understand very well that those with Asperger's syndrome, with which I have been diagnosed, and autism in general, process information differently than do the majority of people, and, in my case, this results in a natural inclination toward mathematics; in the seventh grade, I acquired a comprehensive understanding of calculus, and, since then, this ability to process data and explain events has only increased; likely partially because of this, I have discovered that I consciously think in terms of mathematics and in the language of mathematics.
Are any of you similar to me in this regard, i.e., in having an extreme fondness for mathematics?
