Share anything that you feel proud about. I enjoy reading about positive things on this board.

I just recently had a birthday and answered all of the phone calls from my family for the first time in years.

I’ve been ill for years and recovering from my worst burnout and talking on the phone was just too much for me. I had no energy to process speech and do my usual masking routine so I’ve been avoidant. Yes, I mask around my family. It’s subconcious and I haven’t been able to change it yet. I’m doing so much better and still don’t like the phone but I thought it would make my family happy to talk to me so I did it for them. It made me happy in the end too. I was feeling proud of myself and wanted to share with people who might understand.

I had a job interview today for a new position at the library. I think I did pretty well. I hope I get the position.

What I am proud of:

1. My wife.
2. My kids.
3. My job.
4. My degrees.
5. My military service.

:D

I'm still going to the gym. I have mentioned before that I don't have a lot of choice... it's go to the gym or lose the use of my legs (eventually). But, it's nearly two years now and if I look in the mirror I can see a difference (if my stomach isn't swollen by the Crohns disease). Bloody long hard slog, though.
