According to this article, many of us are

How many times have you been told you are off topic or what you wrote is irrelevant and what about members here who have gotten threads locked because they were offended?

Or what about the ones who come here to just promote their stuff or for their study?

And this isn't just here, it's all over the internet; on Twitter, Facebook, instagram, other internet forums, youtube comments, even the youtube users who post videos, they also do sponsors in their videos.

This thread isn't meant to be taken personal or as an attack, it's meant to be humorous.

I think the definition of troll has changed so much and has been stretched too far I think everyone in the internet can now be considered a troll. And I don't think the article in the link should be taken too seriously because that is just someone's opinion on what a troll is. They are probably someone who thinks everyone online is a troll and whenever they don't like something, "troll."

I'd only consider 1, 6 and 10 to be trolls.

1 is a serious problem online.

I was trolling in a different way today. Someone said he was annoyed by something so I did it in an exaggerated way to make my side laugh and to really wind him up. I guess that's a bit like 1 but the thing is - I was joking and I was only a bit annoying.

Some take 1 to dangerous extremes :(

Some of these 'trolls' are just aspies. It's sad how the presumably NT writer can't stand people who are harmless and probably just have different neurotype to them.

I identified myself in few of the things on the list as well.

I identified with a few of them but I'm justified and this person is just cross that not everyone is NT.

Whereas today - I was actually winding someone up on purpose which I always thought was the point of a troll.

Either that or an insult troll but that's silly, it makes it sound like online bullying and nastiness is less important than offline.

Am I a rtoll?

Depends on the person, depends on the comment, also.

It depends whether the moderator is from ZebraCrossing or not, also.

After all, it depends whether the Earth is flat, a cube, or a unicycle.

It always depends.

"An Internet troll is a member of an online social community who deliberately tries to disrupt, attack, offend or generally cause trouble within the community by posting certain comments, photos, videos, GIFs or some other form of online content." -- quoted from the article.

Some go farther than mere provocation by claiming to be innocent victims of other people's lack of tolerance and understanding.

Autistic people lack the capability to troll and are unable to recognize trolling when they see it.

One man's truth is another man's trolling.

The last goat was sautéed with olive oil, shallots and rosemary.
So tasty.

I've known people on the spectrum who have trolled.

Anyone can troll but that doesn't mean you will be good at it. I see that word get thrown around here too to mean "I don't like what this person writes" or "I don't like this person."

And there are people who shitpost which I also think is a form of trolling. They make up a story and post it to see what responses they get and how people react and there is no agenda behind it and they were not looking for any specific reaction.

My definition of a troll is:

Someone who seems to lack reading comprehension because they ignore what you say and seem to have tunnel reading, they do this to rile you up and see how long you keep going

They post inflammatory comments as anonymous instead of under their real account

They are usually stupid and you can't get through to them with logic and they seem to be singling you out. In truth, they don't believe what they are saying and they are just pretending to be an idiot to rile you up before they feel satisfied enough with your reaction and move on.

They just attack you on social media

They tend to display hypocrisy and have double standards

They are deliberately vague and don't answer your questions when you ask, they are also doing this to rile you up.

They will use your weakness against you and look through your post history and look you up to find ammo against you.

They falsely accuse you of things and then not respond

They will purposely target vulnerable individuals

They are nice to everyone but are selective about who they are mean to and who they target

Everyone has their own definition of a troll.
