No longer existed? It just disappeared from the world along with everyone in it but all the other countries in the world were still exactly the same?

Basically, the image I get in my head is from that episode of The Simpsons where Lionel Hutz says what world would be like if lawyers such as himself didn't exist, and then it shows people of various ethnic backgrounds dancing happily in a circle while holding hands in a cheerful, Disney-like setting. Except he hated the thought and it made him shudder.

I guess there wouldn't be any more Simpsons episodes if the US no longer existed. Oh well.
Or Disney movies. Oh well.

A lot of very nice people on here, including the developer would disappear along with the less desirable ones, among other things... can I send an ark to collect them?

Perhaps the British could have a go at taking over The Simpsons? They'd put their own special take on it.

Luckily I could still access Snoopy and the Peanuts comic strips...

You mean the people vanished, and the land itself vanished (with all of its agriculture and resources)?

Like if god just placed a huge three million square mile lump of rock on the land that is now the US?

The reason I ask is that if the people vanish but the land is still there then the first thing that would happen would be other nations invading and fighting over the land that the vanished USA was built upon. Canada, Mexico, Russia, Japan, and the EU would fight a world war over which pieces of the pie each would get after we 300 million americans all vanished into thin air!

So lets just take that out of the equation. Gpd places a giant slab of concrete on top of used to be the US.

Ok

Forty percent of the world GNP would vanish with it.

Geopolitics would change radically.

I was telling a friend about sci fi novel I was toying with writing.

No more burgers. Get used to eating disgusting, watery noodles.

Nah, the US isn't really the cuisine capital of the world. Greece or the Mediterranean perhaps... Besides, I can make lovely burgers of my own. They could close down the MacDonalds branches in my country...

I think WW3 would break out without the world police around to try & force control. Some other countries would start threatening each other or try & take over each other. Of corse Trump is trying to start WW3 as well.

The Common Language of Business, Air Travel, and Science would be Mandarin Chinese.

Europe would be under Putin’s control.

Mexico would be over-run with refugees from South America.

Canada would be relieved.

As in Chinese Noodles? Don’t forget the side of mystery meat.

There'd be a lot less mass shootings

If the actual landmass of the USA were to disappear the reconnecting of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans would have a considerable affect on oceanic circulation patterns and consequently the planet's climate.

And the sea levels would go down a lot when all the water rushes into the USA-sized hole. The North Sea would disappear, Doggerland would emerge from the waves and the UK would fall out with Belgium and Netherlands about who owns it. You'd be able to walk across to France and we'd be part of mainland Europe again... which would bugger up Boris' plans.
