Do incontinent people find referring to babyhood as diaperho

Do incontinent people find referring to babyhood as "diaperhood" offensive?

I could imagine that could be quite embarrassing to an adult suffering from incontinence of any kind.

Probably depends...maybe if they are embarrassed about it the problem the term could cause offense.

My boyfriend however found a reddit topic, where someone was talking about adult diapers and that they had reviewed various ones. I do not think that individual would be offended by the term because they seemed more comfortable with it.

Oh boo I misunderstood, lot of them also call them diapers. It helps beat the stigma of them. I have never seen the term diaperhood.

No, he was just browsing reddit and came across the topic, its easy to land on threads in reddit wondering how you even got on that subreddit.

Not always. "Diapers" always seems to relate to babies, or refers to the type of diapers which tape together, like baby diapers. I wear what are literally called "briefs" and "adult underwear", and if someone called them "diapers" that would be pretty embarrassing and upsetting.

Eitther you don't get what we are talking about, or I don't get what you're talking about.

Do you know what the word "incontinent" means?
Do you wear "incontinent briefs"? Or just regular men's briefs?

Clearly I was referring to incontinence briefs...I'm not even sure how the other would fit into that context. Point being, that's the proper medical terminology for them, not "diapers", which is just colloquial slang.

Well I've lurked on IC forums and they were all calling them diapers. I have never seen any call them briefs or adult underwear or pads or disposable underwear. At least in other countries they are actually called adult diapers than briefs.

There are some incontinence products which are called “briefs” or “underwear.”

Unfortunately, some are called “adult diapers.”

They’re for adults who have the misfortune to be incontinent.
