Do you like Sears? The store has been struggling and was close to going away this year.

It has had a prehistoric business model that was long overdue to go out of business. No I don't like Sears, never did.

I like Sears. I think their Craftsman tools are top notch. I also loved their catalogs. But times have changed and other outlets such as Amazon have captured their business. In the old days Sears was the Amazon of its time and for those living in the country far away from the city lights, Sears offered merchandise through catalog sales.

i useta like to go in there as a young thing and my mom told me i'd make a beeline to the music section where i could be found on a bench in front of an organ, flupping stop tabs and playing with the pedals and manuals.

We don't have Sears anymore in Canada.

*sigh* We don't have K-Mart anymore, we don't have Zellers anymore, we don't have Target anymore, and we don't have Sears anymore. :(

But we still have Toys R Us. :D

I loved shopping with my mom, we also went to the mall    GREAT memories    I remember the Sears Christmas catalog as a kid. I was in a Sears store once when I was younger. I found it really disorganized. I didn't like it much at all.

In my opinion, Sears has out-lived its usefulness as a general-goods and services store. As Noca said, "It has had a prehistoric business model that was long overdue to go out of business..." This, coupled with the rise in popularity of specialty and online stores, will eventually send Sears down the same one-way street as Radio Shack and Farrell's.

I remember a Sears "store" where you could pick up merchandise you ordered. Don't think I ever did that.
No, can't say I had any fond memories of shopping at Sears.

Eh...I used to buy my jeans there and have gotten nice clothes from there. Honestly I think malls are struggling because of how online shopping is the new thing. I prefer to online shop because I live in a rural area and going all the way to the city to shop is a pain.

I got Super Nintendo games from them before that I couldn't find anywhere else or Sears had put the games on a good sale. I generally found their games to be more expensive than WalMart or kMart so I only got vid games from them when they were on sale or the other stores were no longer selling them. My parents bought various big appliances from them before. My mom got a vacuum cleaner from them at different times. She got the extended warranty where Sears would do routine maintenance on em yearly for a small fee & mom kept the vacuums many years that way. The Sears they went to closed down a few years ago so my parents had to bring the vacuum to the store an hour away when they went to the city last time they bought the vacuum in. The Sears sent it off somewhere & when mom got the vacuum back she could imminently tell that the vacuum had been riding around in back the truck not in a box cuz there's LOTS of scuff marks on it. That Sears was getting ready to close down too so mom didn't renew the warranty.
My dad really likes some of their Craftsman tools as well jimmy. He works in construction & liked their lifetime warranty on lots of non power tools. Dad had LOTS of tools break on him over his many years working in construction & he really like that he could just bring the tool to Sears' tool store & exchange it without needing the receipt or anything.
