Why is it we as humans don’t give a s**t about certain people but are interested in others?

It's because we are human.

We prefer certain people over other people. That's natural.

Can you give me reasons why maybe we prefer some people over others?

There’s this one girl I know who doesn’t give a s**t about me. She blanks me out sometimes. Really rude and she is good friends with my brother as well.

It's like anything else where some things make us intensely interested but other things we couldn't care less about and we have our own individual preferences. For example I couldn't care less about trains, which is supposedly a sure sign of autism, but I'm terribly interested in Disney cartoons even though everyone else won't stop saying how evil Disney is.
