We might have met the same people at some point! An acquaintance is simply someone you talked with in a positive way a couple of times.


The ones I remember are:


From the apartment building where I once lived:

Danotto (sp?), Alex, Rebecca, Shevonne (sp?) (more of an acquaintance), later Emmanuelle (sp?) and Junior (his father's name was Rene).


Friends I made in kindergarten: Cassandra, Amanda O, Franklin F.


Friends I made in grade 1: Jennifer W, Melissa L-C


" grade 2: Joel D (more of an acquaintance), Vaishali P, Jillian R. (acquaintance), Jennifer L.


In grade 1 or 2, Thomas K.


Grade 3: Laura D.


After school daycare: Robbie R, Lauren M, Kristy M, Manju H (she was also the adopted cousin of Jennifer W and lived on Melissa L-C's street), Zachary F, Christina M, Zachary R.

Grade 6: Stephanie L. and Samantha L. I met Sam on the bus in grade 5 and Steph later when they turned up at our bus stop after they moved closer to where I lived.

Grade 7 (all acquaintances): Emily P, Callie M, Shawnee J, Christine H, Brittany H, Vanessa P, Christina B, Caitlin B, Candice S.

Grade 8 (again, all acquaintances): Amma P, Suzanne D, Julia M.

Grade 9 and 10: Andreas K.

Grade 11: Suzie M, on the trip to Europe. She actually went to a different school that was on the trip with us.

Grade 12: Brandy, Jared

Social skills group the year I was in grade 9: Shirley (Omy best acquaintance there), Melanie, Angela, John K, Tim, Jeremy.

Social skills group parties then and later on: Melissa, Philip (sp?), Ian, Mark, Germaine (sp?), another girl. Again, all acquaintances since I never got the time to know them that well, but I especially had time to click (and clicked naturally) with Philip and Mark.

Kamp Kanawana: Ben (best friend there), and the three girls in my tent also became my friends gradually: Emma, Stephanie, and Megan.


Quebec Lodge camp: these girls were more acquaintances or fair-weather friends: Erica H, Jessica H, Katie T, Mylene C, Sarah E. Katie was more of an enemy actually, and Erica more of a friend.


Day camp when I was 9: Ben, Lua, Matthew, David (I had met David before; he was my mother's acquaintance/occasional friend's son)

Pegasus theatre when I was 10: I was pretty popular there, I hung out with these little boys and this girl named Andrea.

YMCA: Terrance, David (though he does/did use people, including me and my mother later). Dwight and Marv(in) are also acquaintances, Dwight being a closer one.


Sailing camp: Emilie B, another Emilie, Sophie, Fraser B, Karl, Gabrielle, Zoe, Alyssa, Rebecca, Edward (eddie), Dana E-S, Amanda F, Travis, Luc-Kai... some were closer than others. All were acquaintances, some bordering on friends.


When I went to Melissa L-C's house I also made friends (or acquaintances) with her little brother Dylan (or Dillon?)


There was also the neighbor's granddaughter Sara, who came over sometimes and we were friends when she came over; I went to a few of her birthday parties and she came to one or two of my parties.

People would say that they are my friends, but I wouldn't really hang out with any of them. They had friends of their own. I would usually be by myself all the time. I may have a little social phobia as well, because I just can't take the initiative to talk to people.

Oh yeah; I also had acquaintances I hung out with sometimes in grade 11: mainly Kessia, sometimes I talked to Paula and Bianca, I talked to Megan and Robyn once or twice. And at summer school I hung out with my old friend Laura and Sarah C, whom Laura and I had seen before in elementary school.

Yikes; I forgot a long list!

Acquaintances I talked to a lot at the bus stop and on the bus in Brockville: Jeenu (sp?) and another girl whose name I forget who was in Montreal a lot but we never met before
Acquaintances I hung out with sometimes, my friends for a day in Brockville: Charlie, Miriam "Mary"

In class in elementary school, Nick B. and Amanda O. were acquaintances of mine sometimes (rarely)
Even Jordan G. was my acquaintance there for awhile.
Miranda S. was the little sister of my classmate Devin S. She was my friend for a day once and we hung out at the pool sometimes.
My friend Stephanie L's friend Amanda was my sort-of friend; when we did see each other we enjoyed running our gums.
At the elementary school daycare we would play in the playground section of the schoolyard a lot and there I met this little girl names Katherine who was there with her mother; she was my friend at the park.
Grade 8: Gabrielle H, who was in grade 7
Johanna V. lived 2 houses down from my father's parents' place and we played and were friends there.
Candida G. was my friend at the veterans' hospital where I volunteered.
Grade 7: Candice S. was an acquaintance of mine and we enjoyed talking
I was friends with Kenny d, Roy, and other old veterans at the vets' hospital where I volunteered.
Friends of mine in my cabin at camp when I was 6: Natasha, Toni.
Jeffrey was my boyfriend that year at that camp.
Tammy was my friend toward the end of camp when I was 8 and after as well.
Elementary school daycare fair-weather friends: Samantha, Gage
Jami from Lakeside Academy could have been my friend she was a good wholesome person and friendly and honest and nice, and we met before years abefore in Brownies. We talked like twice.
I think Jennifer Y. became my friend in grade 4 or 5.
Christina D. came to a party I had once and was an okay person before she became my enemy.

Oh, yeah; I forgot Mioko (sp?) and Cashmere J. From the Leaders at the Western Lachine Recreation Club (our pool). When the group went to see Atlantis we hung around together; we carpooled together and were just naturally friends for the day.

My best friends have been the fellow cat lovers I have met on the Siamese site. I have made friends from Germany, Italy, England, Canada, France, Israel, Argentina, Brazil and all over the United States.

Holdsteady, do you refuse to list them or have you jsut never had any friends or even acquaintances?


I also had Emma and her friends, a girl and a guy named Sharky, in grade 12... once we were going to go to a concert together but it wasn't open after all and so we went to Tim Horton's for a while instead. Also, Mickayla H's friend Tiffany once handed me a note telling me to cheer up, they can only get me down if I let them, with a little happy face. That's the only interaction we had though.
