I worked at Tim Horton's and twice accidentally, without thinking, picked up donuts with my hands to put in boxes or bags to give to the people who ordered.

I have always wanted to work at a library since I was a child, and I have been working at one for nearly six years now. A dream come true.

Before that, I worked as a proofreader for my local newspaper. I enjoyed that job, but the library is even better.

I used to volunteer at a pet store and there was a sign on the wall behind the counter that said..."Do NOT ask for a discount".
A lot of people used to ask that so I ended up making that sign haha.

Every single last employee was lazy and never did their job right.

A long time ago I started working young in the family businesses. My dad was a rouge vetrinarian who kept trying to get me to cut into the animals. It is where I learned my finely tuned negotiation skills.. capture, tie downs, wrapping, needles, stitching, shaves and baths and discard-OK. Cutting----NOT OK.

Never quite sure how I got out of that one. It went something like this, "Well, dad, if I screw up or if someone decides to walk back and see me-what will the govenment think. What will they do to you? I am just not comfortable with that. I am sure I will not do well. You know how clumsy I am." ect ect. I have a fine eye and then had a steady hand-but still. Spiritually I did not agree-thereby lying my way out.

I was also far too young to be talking that way...

former: they were dishonest in some business deals..but still within the fringe of the law. I got into trouble for not following the procedure set in place to do it. My job required on the spot decisions and I do NOT make on the spot decisions that are dishonest.

current: its so easy I feel bored. Im way overqualified to do it but the bills got to get paid. Odd.. there is no stress or pressure but still I feel like im wasting my time on it. Oh well... its just for a year or 2 while I get my stuff ready to move to New Zealand :)

When I first started working there they had soda that was 4 months old being served to customers and they were unaware of this.

At the Tim Horton's where I worked I got to take home donuts and danishes and strudels they were going to throw out anyway... they make fresh ones every day and throw out what they don't sell!

Neither do I. :D

At the Tim Horton's where I used to work the toilet didn't flush and there were bags of gaarbage piled quite high in front of the sink, so whenever we needed the bathroom we had to go down 2 floors (the Tim Horton's was in the mall).

A lot of it was actually food that those homeless people in Edmonton could have eaten! :x I hope they found it!

At that same Tim Horton's, the people thought I was washing my hands over the boiled eggs that were in the sink in a basket but all I was doing was testing the water; it was absentminded; not "I think I'll wash my hands!" !!1 I wasn't even washing my hands! That's one of the big reasons I quit.
