I've seen alto of food threads lately and I wanted to see if others like to prepare their own foods for example. I like to make fresh spaghetti, I like to make the noodles and sauce at home so I can make it taste the way i like it. so does anyone else like to cook in this fashion?

We usually just stick things into the oven here already prepared, but I'd like to learn how to cook for real. :)

I've always liked Rice Krispies treats made from scratch. They are so much better than the kind you buy at the store.

Yeah, I make stuff from scratch whenever I have time, or go pick up great food from a local restaurant - no Kraft Mac & Cheese pour moi 8)

I kinda hate prepared/processed food :eew:

probably 95% of my diet is from scratch. Thats if you dont count cous-cous etc as processed food.

I do get cartons of tomato juice rather than actual tomatoes, other than that its grains, seeds, fruit, veg etc...

I used to bake bread for fun. A very grueling and time consuming process, but could be rewarding. I never really got into preparing actual meals too much; baking is so much more fun.

The only thing is I can't stand getting stuff on me - flour, or whatever. I could slug through yeah, but I was always a little irritable afterwards...

That's way too much work for me. At my house, it's always either TV dinners, canned food, cereal, or fast food. There are exceptions every now and again, but only, like, once every couple of months or so. (We haven't even used the second oven! lol)

I'm forced to make everything from scratch because I'm on a gluten free diet.

It's good because I eat nicer and healthier food. :)

I'd love to make stuff from scratch, but I don't have my own kitchen.

I try to make as much as possible from scratch, it tastes better and I get real satisfaction from making things with my own hands. Somewhere in my stuff, I have a formula for Coke I'd like to try, it has a lot of exotic extracts and stuff, but I'd love to tell people I make my one cola. I make pasta from scratch, but only for certain recipes. I make pizza from scratch quite often, it's tons of fun and dirt cheap. Some things I do cheat on, like chicken stock, because they are time consuming, an for me it's actually cheaper to buy prepared broth than the ingredients to make it at home. I'd really like to get into preserved meats, sausages and such, I want a meat grinder in the worst way. That will have to wait till I rejoin the work force though, I'm subsisting on starch at the moment.
