Hooray for restraints! I don't have meltdowns so often anymore. I just practiced ignoring things and it works.... When I'm REALLY distracted, anyways. Someone posted an article about colleges having special programs for autistic students, and on the photo page was a child who had a dog sleep on him so he wouldn't squirm and squiggle about in bed. It was so cute =O

I freeze and stutter now instead of getting my old type of meltdowns, this sometimes leads me to pass out, like I did once while being forced to walk through Times Square :(

Listen to songs off my ipod

write

sleep

pet my cats which I do anyway without the "meltdowns"

still not exactly sure if these are meltdowns or stress but I've been known to hold everything in and blow up so the hospital was good for that. Don't do that so much anymore.

taking time out from stressful situations is a good coping method, works most of the time for me, a 5 minute timeout works, at work I have to look for an excuse, just to hide the fact I'm needing a timeout
