Whenever I write the date in the month/day/year format, I put an eight for the month in October rather than a ten. I wonder if that's because of the oct-?

I personally make a habbit of writing the month in 3 letters. 18 Oct 2008 - far more clearer than just numbers where many countries use various orders. Asia has the year first (which in a way does make sense) The US puts the month first followed by the day, etc. The UK well - I put it above

We ausies put it 18/10/09, wll at least that is how I do it, it is a quick way at just writing quickly, which I often do need to do to keep up. I can not even remember the months properly, you tell me the month and I start trying to remember the order then I try to count where the month fits in the order. I often get it wrong so I kind of now know that jan is 1st, may is 5th, sep is 9th and dec is last.

I do that all the time! Strangely, I never have a problem with September, November, or December.

I started off with dates as dd mm yy - but I saw that 08/08/08 in any language could be anydate...
12/08/05 - etc... That is why I implemented MY way of doing it. When I'm asked to date, I do it, unless there is only enough room for MM then - I'm screwed or YY
