Yes the title can be seen to be non-sensical, but it can make sense.





As of 2(3?) days ago the site died. I went on recently and saw the admin make a letter basically that the internet has changed and its' easier to get your views across, he's gotten tired of the project and it's been in existence for 20 years. he has that as the site's front page. IIRC most people will go to zoklet.net (the personal site of one of the TOTSE admins; which has existed for a few years) and apparently the textfiles will be moved there. I don't know what would happen with the saved forum posts, there's plenty of fun stuff on there that has to be saved. That's sh***y; TOTSE was the first forum I posted on back in 2005 and i've lurked on there since 2000 or so reading the textfiles and all that. You can probably get most of the older textfiles off textfiles.com, but the newer ones....I don't know. For those unaware, TOTSE was one of the few OLD SCHOOL dial-up bbs that made it to the internet, back in the days of the 1980s, old-school hackers and phone phreakers, etc. site link and explanation. TOTSE was not just a place full of outdated hacking/phreaking/anarchy/cracking files and some cool political/drugs/gun stuff, it was a place about information where you could publish whatever you want and it is free speech; no limit (well as much as a lack of limit as possible, the admins wouldn't report you for the FBi or whatot for whatever illegal activities that you admin on the site; the 'bad ideas', ballistics and 'right to bear arms' are testament to that. Still people didn't admit whatever they did on the site but still

Well the answer is this: TOTSE is a gsateway, if you want to use imaginative language, back to the days of the hacker's manifesto, baud modems, dial-up BBses and phone phreaking. Another answer is we got some good lulz too.

Google that term and you'll get more, but us TOTSEans can now safely say that we now huff our own s**t gas to get high. Before then, the TOTSE joke was 'Huff Raid'. No, not anymore. It's Huff s**t. Jenkem has gotten to 420chan's /jenk/ board (fuckign rip-offs RAGEEEE), it's gotten a South Park Episode, a Facebook group and videos poking fun at the subject
I remember reading the original thread and posting in later threads.

If there are any TOTSEans among the wrongplaneteers, I salute you and say 'good luck' as TOTSE may did, but TOTSEans will never die....

TOTSE was the closest you could get to the Anarchist's Cookbook without incurring the wrath of the feds, and was the first on-line site on which I ever found a schematic for a Blue Box. In fact, I designed the Beryllium Box, way back in the dark ages of analog telephony and facsimile machines!

And now it's all gone ...

yeah.....TOTSE might be resurrected...some day...some might make a TOTSEchan. zoklet is the closest for now, dude...zoklet....(a site maintained by the TOTSE admin known as 'Zok')

there's a list under 'underground forums' google that but TOTSE was the biggest/best.

am never registered,but used to read it every day,especially the BI board.

Sad. TOTSE was the the online equivalent to Loompanics and other off the wall publishers
who pushed the envelope of free expression....

What's an underground forum?

a forum dedicated to various 'underground' activities, from hacking, to making various explosives, to drug information, to dumpster diving, all of that type of stuff. some forums are good for all of that; some specialize in a certain subsect, etc. TOTSE was the largest of those forums I believe.

FWIW, I've been there more than a few times in the past myself, sad to see it go.

If this site had all this dodgy stuff on it like drugs etc. then why wasent it closed by any governments, police etc?

Oh ok. I'm surprised that those sites aren't banned. Although I guess you can't close all of them.
