There are recipes with fish, but the most common down here is raw (and/or cooked) shrimp plus cooked octopus, but mostly it's just raw shrimp.
Add some lemon, some serrano chiles, salt, sliced onions and you're good to go! That's the most simple recipe here in Mexico.

my dad's peruvian, but its my spanish grandma who makes the ceviche whenever we're there (in spain, ive never met any of my peruvian relatives, they live in el callao, lima, which i understand is quite the ghetto :D )

When Andrew Zimmer went to Argentina, he had some of that, and he said it
was awesome. I bet it's good brain food too.

i would if i could! but i am unfamiliar w the fish she used, i have NO clue about mediterranean fishes, besides, over in your side of the world, it would probably be yet another type of fish used. but i remember there was LOTS of lemon! :D

I don't like fish at all. The best I can do is fish sticks about once a year. Even then I need a lot of tarter sauce and malt vinegar.
