I'm just listening to a 40min. excerpt from Itunes that was Free. Talk about being indepth! It's amazing not so much the story but the depth!! ! Stephenie Meyers is a great author. There are so many little details it's amazing!! !! (Only on chapter 1 so we'll see how the story goes. I plan on borrowing the book then perhaps A)Buying it B)buying a 3 disc movie WITH a free Itunes movie download and C) an App on Itunes for $10 for the book YA!

Depth? It's got as much depth as a puddle. It has flat, Mary-sue/Gary-stu characters, and little to no plot.

I read the first book and wasn't terribly impressed.

Then I got my hands on the Audio Books and have been listening to them. Again, the first was ok but not brilliant. The second book however was really, really good.

Almost nothing happens in it - so if you're expecting an action or horror book, move on.

What I liked about the second book were the parallels between it and Romeo & Juliet. I'm afraid to say that I never really liked R&J and couldn't understand the love/motivations of the characters. In New Moon however, the characters are so three-dimensional that you get a good feel for the pain of love.

I can't see how alicedress thinks the characters are flat... now if the comment was "boring", I might agree - you have to be in the right kind of mood (and it's generally not a boys book).

Wow! Some interesting opinions. I love how indepth it is every little miniscule detail you can imagine and sure the story so far IMO seems basic it's neat IMO. :-)

When I'm talking of flat characters, I'm pretty much talking about Bella and Edward. Neither have any real personality, nor do they experience much character growth, nor do they really have any real character flaws. Unless one considers creepy stalker/abusive behavior (Edward) and being whiney and helpless (Bella) to be character flaws. I'm not completely sure where I stand on Bella's clumsiness, but I'm leaning toward the view that it's not a significant character flaw.

To sum it up in a few words: They're to damn pretty & perfect to be well rounded characters.

I was forced to read it when it first came out, my friend Tarie is obsessed with it and she wanted someone to discuss the book with and I ended up being the friend - I read really quickly and can usually remember pretty much every detail. Not my usual reading material but definitely not the worst thing I've read.

I liked the movie, it was pretty good - although I didn't mean to see it, went with the brother and his friend to see an independent art film (which got shut down to show Twilight) and I ended up with tickets for the three of us to see Twilight and free large popcorn combos instead (due to my anger at the lack of art film and my threatening to never go there again)

Reading through force is actually pretty interesting, you find some pretty cool books that way.

I read all 4 books over 3 days after giving into morbid curiosity.

My verdict?

I want my €30, 3.5 million dead braincells and 3 days of time back please.
I've read better vampire stories on Fanfiction.net.
Stephenie Myer can't write for s**t.

I know. I read the whole series in 10 days. :nerdy: I was so disappointed when it ended because I was completely hooked.

I watched the movie last week and it was good. But it took me a bit to adjust to how the characters looked in the movie compared to how I pictured them in my head.

I saw the movie a couple of days ago and I thought it was boring. Nothing really happened. Some bits were pretty cool but I thought it was a bit disappointing. I might try reading the books though...

I feel there was no spark between the actors who played Bella/Edward so I hope the acting is better in the sequels. Jacob,James,Charlie were well done characters as I imagined them except unlike the book Bella didn't cook for him!! I spoil beyond the synopsis' for myself but I'm over psyched for Breaking Dawn!! ! :-) Glad there are fans here on WP Overall the movie=to little romance Book=To much romance to much gah gah stuff. So hopefully it develops in the sequel/other books to find a happy medium a great love story all the same I don't get the hate or the psycho obsessed teens but it was a Great book IMO. g2g read #1 again since I'm waiting to buy books 2-4 since I don't have the money in about 2 weeks I'll buy them. :-) I'm shocked you got through them in 10 days wow! I got through Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows in 18 hours 12Noon-6AM. :-)

Twilight is stupid. The books are poorly written, the storyline is terrible... etc.

I don't get the craze for itttt.
