Too many silly posts lately?

Hey, I've being trying to keep with peoples' lives here on WP as they post, but the silly meaningless posts that should all be in the "Chit Chat" forum are clogging up other threads. Or, let me correct that, I see 50 silly posts for every 2 serious ones. Anyone else have the same complaint is it just me?

To some extent, I agree. I would like to read more stuff that had some meaning. On the other hand, those silly posts keep this place going when it would otherwise be slow. So, I guess it's a love/hate relationship. :chin: :lol:

I'm for a little silliness now and then. It helps lighten my mood, which in turn takes the sharpness out of some of my posts.

I confess.... at times maybe I go a bit over the top with it (me being silly) and probably some will scratch their head, thinking too cheesy or something. Maybe(?). But hey.... WP is quite serious for the most part and.... yeah, I'm with the 148 years old man on this one.
As long as one doesn't ridicule someone who is being serious about something serious I'm absolutely fine with it. More I'd say.

new to the forum, but its part of who these posters are, and its what makes them a part of the place.

Is this a complaint about too much silliness on the Random Chat forum specifically, or on WrongPlanet in general?

If it's the former, I checked the threads that ended around this date in 2008, 2007 and 2006. They were no less silly than any threads around now.
