Is this normal?

When walking in the country if I walk past a herd of cows or something I get really hungry and my mouth starts to water. I mentioned this to my sister and she said that was weird, so I asked some other people if that was normal and they said the same thing. Before now I always just assumed that was normal, I used to just think that it must just be a natural instinct to get hungry at the sight of certain animals, I mean if we didn't then surely we wouldn't eat meat?

what do you think? is this a normal reaction to unprocessed food (live stock) or is it abnormal?

I'm not sure if it's normal, but either way it's awesome.

I don't think this is normal either. I rarely get hungry by watching live animals. But if I see a good piece of cheese, be sure I will get hungry.

Seems like it really isn't anyway near as normal as I had previously assumed it was. Not quite sure what to make of that now lol

I imagine lions and tigers would probably experience a similar reaction to seeing live animals. And given that we're predators too, it isn't all that odd that someone might experience that; after all, it is a trait which would have increased survival in caveman times, by providing an incentive to do something about that walking food one observes.

Perhaps you have hunter DNA while everyone else has forager DNA. Maybe they're jealous .

I think the same kinda things, but it's more in reference to wild animals that I see that I've never eaten before. I don't actually salivate or get hungry per se, but if I'm, say, at the zoo, and I peep the rhinoceros or the mountain goats or something I'll think to myself "hmm I bet that big fella's tasty". I feel like mine is more curiosity than predatory instincts, and I don't care if it isn't normal, I am well within my rights to dream.

My mouth doesn't water unless im really hungry to begin with though, well at least it doesn't most of the time. oh and its not that bad that I start drooling either lol! but I do get really hungry, its the smell aswell. you can taste it on your tongue and that always makes you hungry.

Whenever I see a dachshund (a brown one, short fur), I get hungry for hot dogs.

It makes me feel weird when I'm around a herd of cows....as if I'm guilty.

They make feel completely the opposite like repulsed as if eating them isn't natural. I remember after having been around them in someone's farm, we got cheezeburgers from Dairy Queen and I just couldn't eat any. The site of them made me sick and I love burgers with french fries normally.

I know what you mean. Walking past a field of cows. All those steaks and burgers still with their clothes on. Makes the mouth water. And pigs too. Every grunt reminds me of bacon grilling.
