You went on holiday or some place far from home and you bumped into somebody you didn't like, what would you do? Image

Put on an accent and pretend that I'm not me, just someone who looks a lot like me.

Ignore them, which is what I would do even if I weren't far from home.

What I would most likely do is do what Moog is doing, I actually quite like the idea actually, but I'm actually crap when it comes to accents, the only alternative I can do is have a clean shave and get myself one of those weird wigs or put them in cornrows. :D

Put on a completely different clothes than I normally do, that could probably work for me.

**Coincidently, I thought of this while bumping into one of my neighbours yesterday when I was in town, never really had anything against her but it was just a wacky idea.**

I'd put on the best southern drawl that I can, so that the person wouldn't recognize me, and pretend to be someone else.

I'd just try to ignore that person to the best of my ability. If that person were to acknowledge me, I'd try to be as polite as I could, even though I dislike them, because I hate getting into altercations with people.

I'd bore them to death by going on and on about the intricate details of French morphosyntax and the ongoing debate over whether it's slowly becoming polysynthetic.

Actually I wouldn't do that
I'd slap them with a wet fish

Hmmm...I actually don't know. I've never really thought about it

That has happened so often I don't even have to imagine it. :?

Normally I just waited for that person's reaction first. If he/she said hi to me, I said hi back and engaged in a little, "Long time no see! How are you?" etc. If he/she ignored me, well, good riddance.

Course, the problem is I'm terrible at recognizing faces, so sometimes I didn't even know I was supposed to dislike the person until we'd said goodbye. :!:

ok, i'm thinking ocean liner, halfway across the atlantic.....it's dusk and the decks are for the most part void of people. it's a calm sea with the faint sound of waves slapping gently against the side of the ship. the hum of the engines is a small sound, small compared to.......the bellowing of paul, drunk as usual and annoying to those few who pretend they're doomed lovers, trapped on the titanic, about to slide under the cold, murky waters. paul sees me and roars with recognition, like we're friends, seeing each other after years of separation. actually, i despise paul, a bear of a man i once worked with, our offices so close i could smell the stink of his cigarettes, smoked despite the law forbidding it. but, that was paul, obeying rules only he could fathom.

so i gently escort paul, slowly but deliberately, to the rail and push him overboard.

Nothing. I would just not talk to them unless they came up to me first. It's the same thing I do with people I DO like.

Freak out, which is what I would do regardless of wherever I am when I bump into someone I hate.

I get such severe panic attacks when I see someone I know, unarranged. The possibility of spontaneous chatting scares me I think. So, if I saw someone that I was acquainted with on holiday, I would avoid them. If I bumped into them, I would run away and order the organiser of the holiday to take me home, again.
