I just had it done today and everything is fine and I am having a girl. She was very active in there and looked like she was stretching in there and she was waving her hands and feet. This will be the only ultra sound during my pregnancy.

League-girl: Congrats! They won't do the anatomy scan at 18-20 weeks? Wow. That one is usually picked over NT from what I've heard.

I should have my anatomy scan later this month (way later) or early February. I can't wait to see my lil guy again! Haha. I wish I could feel him... but someday, hopefully sooner than later.

Have you started thinking about names?

No not yet. I had to look up anatomy scan to see what it is and it appears I already had it done. She is very active in there and I don't remember my son moving around a lot this young inside me. He was still in my uterus and then changed position and that was it but this baby here was moving a lot while my so moved very little. I wonder how a fetus acts determines what kind of personality they will have after birth. My son is pretty active now and hyper despite how mellow he was when he was an infant until he started to crawl.

There are some reports that a mild in-utero baby will be more wild and hyper outside, and vice versa, but I don't think there's any established facts on the issue.

16th week now but my weight still is weird. So my trousers got larger around the belly, but get loosened around my upper legs. O_o I really dont get it, because from my oppinion I eat like a "slaughter-pig" (Saying around here.) So I definitly eat more then before my pregnancy, as well that from my oppinion I eat all day. I care to avoid sugar prodcuts or Fast food a bit, but not totally, so I still have a small package of Haribo stuff once a week or an chocolate bar, as well that we still celebrate our "Fast food monday". I am a bit concerned, so I simply eat when I feel hungry, which is definitly more then before pregnancy, still it seems that I have lost weight around my other body areas? Belly and Breast got a bit larger, but as well not that much, so in winter cloths (woolen pullover), people dont mention it. I am concerned about offfering to less nutrition to my small one, but if it was like that, wouldnt I simply feel hungry more often?

I will know about the gender now on the 25th of February at the organ screening. I could know earlier, so I have a gyn check before, but my partner was able to get a free day for the organ screening, so we want to know about the gender when we are together. :) I am already very noisy about it. :) According to my partner it must be a girl, because if it was a boy, it would have his fathers eating habbits, which would mean, flesh, flesh, flesh and more flesh. And less of that sh***y green stuff that Mama prefers. XD

18 weeks tomorrow! I get my anatomy scan on the 27th and I can't wait to see my little dude! Who is still missing a name. Oh well, I think, maybe, we are getting closer to deciding on one? We'll see. School is starting again on Tuesday, so that should be fun.

Oh, and my quad screen test came back great! So that's good.

Schneekugel: LOL! That's funny about the greens! I can't get enough crappy comfort foods (corn dogs, pizza, chips and dip....). Also, don't worry about the weight, baby is just fine, and I seriously know people that have lost weight up to 25 weeks or so! It all just depends on how your body distributes and adjusts :) I would say you are doing just fine :)

Sounds nice and seem to have an very old origin. Wikipedia mentioned it to be of an old english meaning of "elven counsil", pretty cool. :)

Yea, I like it cause it's an old, solid boy name that isn't taken around us that we know of, and it's so cute too!

Had a minor flu all around the last week. Thursday I went to the doctor, because I thought my metabolism and blood pressure was additionally getting low, because I felt nausetic in the morning. But the infection simply got from my nose to my ears, and because of them being swollen my sense of gravitiy was a bit disabled, that caused the nauseatic feeling. Additional a low fever. Doctor gave me workfree for two days, because he was afraid if the infection got worse and the fever worse, that he needed to use serious medication, which he wanted to avoid, because of the pregnancy. So he instead sent me home with tons of typical grandma-advices and two natural medication with herboils.

I found it fascinating, how easily doctors around here normally subscribe you tons of chemical medication for every minor flu, when from my experiences that weekend the stuff I was told to do worked fine as well, and was as well much cheaper then the chemical medication. (Flooding nose with saltwater two times a day, inhaling water damp with some kind of eukalyptus and other oils in it, getting some halffluid pills with lavenderoil in them, drinking sagetea...)

Our parents were a bit troubled by it, so we wanted to do some baby-stuff shopping that weekend, while there is still winter-sale. So when they asked us if we found something, we needed to tell them, that we were not able to go because of me being ill. (If you are excused from work by the doctor, then you are allowed to do basic grocery shopping in your surrounding, but no running to babyshops or furnitureshops. ^^) From our parents reactions, it seemed as if the doctor had diagnosed me with Ebola instead of an minor flu. O_o

@Leaguegirl Grats to your sporty girl, I already cant wait to know about the gender. :)

I am happy for those who want children but I'm not really someone who wants any children. I don't really understand the appeal. But that's okay. There's a lot of things like that. For all expecting mothers in this thread, good luck :)

My new nephew is coming his way in March, and I'm very happy for my brother. My dad is going to be a grandpa now, so it's kind of exciting. But also kind of stressful. They're naming him Cooper. I wonder what he'll be like. I just hope my brother is ready to take care of the little guy.

Schneekugel: It's funny, isn't it? I but I'm glad that the meds worked for you! My mom is currently sick, and I'm staying far away. Sucks about not getting to go baby shopping though!

Update: Anatomy scan was yesterday, and my little boy is still a little boy. Strong heartbeat, and no soft signs of anything, so all looks just great! I start my first breastfeeding class on the 7th... and hopefully June comes quickly. Still not able to feel any movement. Trying to be patient.

I am not totally sure about it, but 3 times, when I was lying still in the evening, while reading/watching television, I had the impression of some sort of an short and weird pressure at my front belly. Because of it always being only a single moment, and me not having been pregnatn before, I am not sure if it might have been already some moves, or if it maybe only was some sort of bodyfeeling, because of the movement of body parts inside the belly.

Lucky! I have been confirmed twice to have a anterior (frontal) placenta so I'd really do better to not think about feeling movement. The tech said based on my placental positioning, I've got a good 3 weeks left till I should feel a thing. I'd bet if it caught you off-guard it was likely baby though!
