It was just a general warning. Not specifically directed at you.

It's just getting a little warm in this thread.

My post got mysteriously deleted, but it was something about how I've never been attracted to 'alpha' males.

Every guy I've really liked could be considered 'dorky' or 'unattractive' by other people.

@AspergianMutantt
Even though this thread is about the treatment of women, I don't think it's the best place to have a debate about what women want based on evolution...and (this is my assumption based on your attitude on the subject) your personal experiences. I might not have the right to assume you're just 'bitter' (which I'm not), but you also don't have the right to?as smudge said?place your own opinions into women's mouths.

its no wonder the males are becoming frustrated,

Er...no.

AM, you have some very wrong ideas about how this works. I'd suggest you leave the MRA sites alone. They don't reflect reality. They're the watering holes of scared, sometimes abused, often very unpopular men who put together strange fantasies about what's happened to them, and a lot of those guys have (a) taken it as true that women are a measure of their own value; (b) decided it's women's fault that their own social status isn't higher. It really is Elliot-Rodgersland. It's neither healthy nor accurate.

Spend time with actual people instead.

He should also stay clear of Tumblr as well like the MRAs only the complete opposite filled with misandrists posed as Feminists. Both types of websites are filled with sexist hatred and whiners!

I'm not a very active member of WP, but from what I have seen, this definitely needs to come to Alex's attention. This thread itself is evidence of that, because the quantity of sexists comments is making it impossible for us to organize some sort of solution. I tried to read all the way through this thread, but only got to about page 15 or so before it was too much.

May I suggest that we start a petition, perhaps through a well known website such as change.org? We could even add a link to the petition to our forum signatures.

For one, I do not go to any of those sexist sites.

Secondly, men ARE dicks to other men,, so when women complain that men are being sexist because their being dicks to them then your going off on the wrong foot, I have had more then my fill of being bullied by other males.

As for my attitude, when I had gotten bullied so badly, the women wanted nothing to do with me, with that loser, while i seen those bullies go off with women almost always one in their arms. that made me so sick and angry., so of course I gone off assuming thats what women wanted, that aggressive a**hole. they sure didn't want anything to do with me, a Mr nice guy and pacifist. it made me feel i was getting beat on just so they can attract the women. I almost shot the bastards, I actually brought a gun to school, then decided they was not worth it and quit school instead. that was back in the late 70's. I was bullied from first grade till I quit.

So if you see a male getting bullied and beat on, just do not sit there, go give them that much needed hug, because you never know whose life you will be saving in doing this one kind gesture. as for me I never got that much needed hug, not once, if anything women avoided me like the plague because of all the bullies. you have no idea how angry that made me. toward both men and women. not once, not once in my whole life did anyone come to my aid when I had gotten bullied, if anything people stood around and laughed at me and took pictures, not even my family nor the school nor the police helped me, no one. I have even been raped by another male at gun point, and when I tried to get support I was only told to be quiet about it, like I should be ashamed that it happened.

I am still affected by it today, I have became a total isolationist and want little to do with people. I have major social anxietys because of it all, and I have pretty much disowned my own family for not being there for me when I needed them.

This:

Doesn't tally with this:

Quote:
me, a Mr nice guy and pacifist.

It's my experience that self-proclaimed 'nice guys' almost always aren't. And this is what keeps women away from them. I do not want to date a guy that has seriously contemplated murdering fellow students.

I am certainly not saying that there aren't some women who are attracted to bullies and abusers. But it's not because they are inherently attractive, it's because there's something deeply flawed with these women who think they deserve no better or were raised in a similarly abusive environment. Men also sometimes choose abusive partners because they know no better.

Feminism doesn't demand that every guy be 'nice' - feminism (my version anyway) demands that there aren't systemic barriers against women. I certainly don't believe in my mother's (self-serving) feminism that implies that women are nicer people than men.

What this thread was about was bringing the same standards of moderation to issues of sexism that would be brought to issues of race.

That wouldn't just benefit women. It would also prevent men from being victimised by a toxic echo-chamber of 'nice guys' 'alphas' and scientistic (never heard that word before Tarantella, but I like it!) nonsense that keeps people from understanding their own issues or taking responsibility for the behaviour.

Do not even compare me to others, I dealt with bullies for years, then this last guy and his friends were the last straw, his friends would hunt me down and corner me while he came up and beat the crap out of me, and he done this for almost every day for months and what was worse dozens of others stood around and done nothing but watch and laugh and taking pictures to later humiliate me even more so with (and most of those observers were females that also humiliated me further with those pictures), so I begged the school they said it was right off their grounds so not their problem, so I begged the police and they said it was a school problem, so I asked for help even form my family and siblings and they all refused to do anything, I begged my family to help either teach me how to fight or send me to self defense classes and all I got was a NO or that they couldnt afford it, figuring if I got beat up enough I would learn how to fight back on my own when the odds were always against me.. I was at the end of my rope, everyone has a breaking point. in which case I did nothing after all but walk away, left town. it was more of a matter of self preservation. and I disowned my family when I left too. thats how bad it got.

I have never owned a weapon in my life, I don't want one, that one incident was my fathers weapon not mine and it was because I was feeling desperate to defend my self not that I really wanted to hurt anyone, thats why I chose to walk away instead and leave town, I do not like feeling angry and I was feeling pretty defenseless alone and scared.. I get to depressed to often so I am afraid of owning one because I may end up using it on my self. if I actually harmed another human being I doubt I would be able to live with my self.

Countless times I been beat by not only bullies but by the police as well (just for being a transient) yet I walked away. so don't give me that crap. and as for that person who raped me, its was an off duty gay cop. so much for trusting in those whom are supposed to serve and protect you.

But as for me I have not actually harmed anyone in my whole life, heck I even go out of my way to help insects (the none bitting ones) out the door without hurting them, and I have stopped to help animals that I have at times in my life found hurt. I am the type of guy that brings home wild flowers most every chance i get just because I think their pretty, and I used to try and give people hugs when I thought they needed it (now I do not want to touch or even be touched by people).

My father only took me hunting once, and when I seen a deer I yelled look dad there is one! it of course it ran away and he didn't get to bag any animals that year, he never took me hunting again. I do not like seeing things hurt.

My (ex) wife was even abusive to me because I was to much of a pacifist, she was always trying to tick me off but instead I would vanish on long walks. then after we divorced she went and alienated our son from me, and no one would help me get him back.

About the only people I do hang with when I can find them are peace loving hippies. I traveled on the road homeless for nearly a decade, you see a lot of things, and countless times have I stopped to help someone out that broke down, even pulled people out of accidents a couple times. and listened to people when they just needed a friend. all with people now and then swerving their cars at me or taking pot shots at me just to see if I would jump in fear of them and run away (most of the time I just ignored them not caring if I lived or died).

There has been many times I needed a friend just to talk too and the only response I got was to be told to go PAY someone to listen to me. its no wonder I basically disowned the human race as well. my life has been hell and the only way I found out of it is to try and live a totally isolated life.

I am a single father now of an 8 year old son, and I have never spanked nor hit him once, if I did it would break his heart because he has never seen me be violent in any way. and do not think I just spoil him, I have 6 parenting certificates on my walls from classes in parenting and child behavior and play therapy classes I took. there are many ways to discipline without reverting to violence. and he is a vary good kid, I been raising him with that same peaceful ethos as the hippies of the 60's. although god help any bullies that may try and pick on him because I am vary protective of him.

So don't be so quick to judge me until you walked a mile in my shoes.

Now back to the subject at hand, there are a lot of evil jerks and people out there, just because your female and their that way with you does not mean their being sexiest. their like that with everyone, and its those kinds of people I would love to see in prisons and off the streets.

The inescapable fact of the matter is that there are too many jerks on this forum.

I don't know if you've gone ahead with your plan as the 25 pages of this thread have been accumulating, but I think that if the site owner gave a damn, he'd already have done something, so my personal solution is to spend more of my time on better sites, such as aspiecentral, and less time here. 8)

The initial poster was listing her thoughts on the issue. I did not see it directed to a specific person. She did not say all men are xyz. She was expressing her concerns and feelings. I think some people are taking the comments too personally here.

Are the comments hitting home?

--

I have been withdrawing from this site due to over aggression and not a lack of compassion from others.

I think specifically comments can get a bit immature or judgmental . Of course this is not all peoples or men specifically. But the general formums can get fugly at times and apparently the women's forum too.

As to terms of "dyke" or name calling Alex and team can just say cool it calling people names is not accepted in civil society to begin with. If threads get out of hand in regards to aggression just say cool it or the thread will be closed.

So treating this issue like any other "aggressive" issue is a good place to start. Not letting the personal attacks continue.....particularly since women with autism can go under diagnosed and they are finding out issues for themselves very often and seeking support.

---

Some people on the internet feel anonymousness gives them free rein to espouse uncontrolled thoughts which would not be acceptable in general society. . This can also lead to a form of cyber bulling on a forum. level.
