They are OVERRATED!! !

Doesn't it seem like at every wedding ceremony the bride is wearing a skimpy risque strapless wedding gown with cleavage?

Why is the style so popular?

My theory of why most women opt to wear this type of dress at their wedding is for sex appeal

They wear these types of dresses in order to show off their "assets" to men

The whole purpose of the style is to show cleavage so it makes sense!

HOWEVER, I feel this is problematic because wearing such an outfit would attract other men which is bad since you are getting married!! !

Personally I think the strapless fashion style is 100% trashy even though I own a few dresses of that type but I make absolutely certain I don't show any or very minimal cleavage while wearing them!

I want to see a return to traditional and modest wedding dresses & if I opt for a strapless dress for my own wedding next year I will be turning to the "dark side"! !!

Okay, perhaps I am being a bit dramatic there

There is a such thing as clean strapless dresses including wedding dresses

"Clean" in this case refers to dresses without cleavage

You should NOT be showing cleavage at a classy & sophisticated formal event like a wedding or even prom IMHO!

Now I'm not trying to police or monitor what brides choose to wear on their wedding day, I just want to see a return to modest wedding dresses

Does anybody else feel the same way?

Thanks in advance!! !

There are also many brides wearing just plain clothes or something festive they can use on other occasions... Just not overly exposed in media. (helps living across church )

Your wedding is all about what you want and how you feel.

Some modest wedding dresses do look nice! I'm personally insecure with my fat shoulders so I don't think I look good with no sleeves.

I would totally wear something like this. https://www.devotiondresses.com/cdn/sho ... 1680009736 Reminds me of Kat Harvey's dance dress in Casper.

I wore something that had straps, with an empire waist as I knew I didn't want a strapless dress because I was worried about a wardrobe malfunction. That's why I'm not a fan of strapless dresses, as there's the risk of the top not staying where it should. What's nice is that there's more to wedding dresses than simply strapless, as you can pick any style you want.

I couldn't care less about wedding dresses since I'm never going to wear one ever.

That is EXACTLY the reason why I don't really care for strapless dresses!! !

There are so many other styles for wedding dresses like you said

Why fixate on what people who aren't you might choose to wear on their big day?

Lots of styles exist, you can choose the one that you'd like on your big day and they can choose the one they like for theirs.
