Strange and funny things you've done as a child
I can think of a few...one doesn't really have to do with AS I don't think, but my mom tells this story all the time. When I was really small, around three probably, I developed an obsession with animal crackers. So I'd eat them all the time. Then one day I bit ate half of a monkey cookie and showed my mom (feeling really proud for some reason) when she cheerfully told me, "Aww you bit the monkey's head off!" I then proceeded to scream in pure horror and throw the cookies across the room. I killed the animal crackers!
It haunts me to this very day.... (Not really, no)
Another one that comes to mind is I was very obsessed with teeth as a child, my own teeth to be exact. So I was very careful about brushing them twice a day, every day, on the dot. One day I got this really bright idea that toothpaste tasted good, and if there was ever some kind of apocalypse, we could all eat toothpaste and survive. So I started to eat the toothpaste and when I went to show my mom she freaked out and told me to never do that because it can poison me (I had only eaten a little bit). Well after that I developed a complete phobia of the stuff. I convinced myself that brushing my teeth could be fatal if not met with the greatest caution. So I still brushed my teeth twice a day, but this time I would always run to my mom afterwards and show her my mouth going "Is it all gone? I'm not poisoned am I?" This lasted for a few years, but I guess I got over it at some point.
My personal favorite was my Buggy Sanctuary. At the time we weren't exactly living the high life, so the house we lived in had a lot of ants and slugs. I would always take great joy in pouring salt over the slugs just to see the reaction (I feel bad now. I had only vaguely realized it hurt them). Then I would grab as many ants as possible, killing half of them in the process, and throw them outside so they could be saved. Though I kept a few for the sake of science and at some point I put two ants in a jar together in an attempt to breed them. I don't think it worked...one of them ended up eating the other one.
I did a lot of things for the 'sake of science', yet at this moment in time science is my worst subject. Go figure.
