And you're sitting in the audience watching it?

I've felt this way for most of my adult life.

Like the feeling of not living "in" your own life? That is how I have felt most of my life. I think this is part of the lack of motivation I have, not being connected to any motivating emotions of my own.

What a relief ! !! im not the only one.

i have been like that forever, and i waste all my time trying to join in, im fighting like a daemon in holy water, i have monthly appointments with either a social worker or a psychiatrist and they cant understand that. im extremely tired of just sitting and watching, it looks like fun in there, but i cant cross over, there is some king of force field around me that prevents me from going there ....

I think mine is more of a soap opera than a movie, but I can understand what you mean!

Sometimes I think my life is like The Truman Show - somehow people can see what I do when I'm alone and they know everything about me.

Yes. It was critically panned and a few people walked out. Plus Uwe Boll is directing.

I feel like I am on the outside, watching myself, if that makes any sense. Sometimes, I become disconnected from everything around me. I can be internally screaming at myself to do or say something, yet i'll just sit here silently and "watch the show".

Me too! I never understood it. Its even to the point where I video tape everything. I took video production in school and found I was pretty good at it. Taking videos helps me make people less uncomfortable with me watching more than observing.

I feel this way too...

I'm not really in control, it's just sort of happening to me.

If it were, it would be pretty dull by most people's standards. My cats and dog would be good for some cute videos on Animal Planet, however.
