Who, me?

Well just in case; I have an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Mensa rating (by postal test; I stuck to the rules) of 154 (since confirmed by several others) and a proven exceptional inventiveness...and just recently, I found a one-page solution (maybe two) to Fermat's last theorem (which you'll probably never hear about officially; mathematicians, like scientist in general, or autism experts in particular, don't like us autistics showing them up...).

Nearly forgot; I was only second to Scooter in solving the "red hat black hat" problem.

I'm just being informative, you understand?

I think he was referring to Sophist, (because she was the OP.)

Interesting. The test was mostly accurate. I came out in their "NAE" category.

Hey, Merle. Thank you. I just took that picture about 2 weeks ago. I didn't like the one I had taken previously (couldn't get the lighting right), so I used the one of Foucault instead.

Are you still doing the brain bank? Got to hope my brain doesn't turn out a hot, sticky, gooey mush on the walls by the time I make my submission. Honestly Sophist, you're really twisting my arm here. OK I'll do it for you. ;)

That's on a slight pause for the moment. Trying to figure out how one would actually GET the brains, make sure everything is well-documented (cause of death, etc.), and that we know how long the brain basically sat in the skull before extraction, since knowing how long decay has occurred will affect research results.

Are adults with AS as well as classic autism included here? If so, I'll participate! :)

Most definitely. I am using "autism" in a broader spectrum sense. :)

Sounds good. We can see how they measure up to each other for intertest reliability so we can help each other improve our respective tests. :)

Hi, LePetitPrince. I am currently finishing off my Bachelors in Psychology. I will be attending the University of Louisville for my PhD in Experimental Psychology and training under Dr. Manuel Casanova, who is in the field of autism research. He also has special expertise in brain anatomy, especially in autism and Aspergers. In the past, I have been an ABA therapist (I have many criticisms of the method), a research assistant to a professor at my university, and I am currently an assistant for a practicum at Washington University, working for Dr. Tom Conturo, who is currently involved in a larger HFA study involving fMRI. I also own and help administrate another autism forum called Gestalt (see signature). And finally, on the personal side, I have AS.

My reason for attempting to design an adult-focused autism questionnaire is because, currently, in working at WashU I am having to do research on the ADOS-G. To my mind, the diagnostic method is too exclusive to those who are less severe. It also has never been fully tested on Asperger populations and especially adults. So, with my discontent in hand, I decided to try and build a self-report questionnaire which could be used as one additional tool when diagnosing an adult ASC.

This is in the very beginning stages and I won't be able to truly test reliability and validity until I am in graduate school. However, I have a year and a half to get this as good as possible.

Thanks, everyone, for the interest. I'll get the questionnaire to you in a PM. :)

If you are afraid to find what you really are, don't try this test...or else make excuses about why you couldn't complete it!

I don't know if I took the right test, but I got "AP" personality type, whatever tht means.

I'll take it. I'm 27, and upon getting my assessment, I noticed there are absolutely no options for an adult at all. I'm filling out the thing, a 40 page questionnaire that asks "what age did your child first walk?" "date of child's birth" "guardian of child". It's definitely geared towards only children, and boggles me to be filling it out, lol. I actually get stressed out due to how ridiculous it is to be filling out something that regards me as a child because they have nothing age appropriate.

im confused, does adult aspies means that they have been always an aspies since childhood but never got diagnosed or that they live a normal childhood but start developing AS when they turn into adult?

in any case, i wanna join, but i think i hav AS, so not sure if thats helping your cause.
