I usually have trouble sleeping if it's raining outside. Either I can't get to sleep right away, or I wake up at three in the morning and I can't get back to sleep.

I've had trouble falling asleep for various combination of reasons: Dylan's sleeping issues, not being able to fall asleep once in bed, not being able to stay asleep after going to sleep, waking at even slightest noises. I've been offered sleep meds but I refuse to take them due to the fact I have two kids to take care of. Can't believe the stupid psychiatrist I saw about a med review thought that was the sole answer to all my problems.

I can sympathise with everything said. My sleep patterns are dreadful - sometimes I will function successfully on about 7 hours and wake up in the morning feeling ok - othertimes for no reason I will need 10 hours or more and am very restless waking up at regular intervals. I have done this for as long as I can remember. My parent used to hate me for being so restless at night and wanting everyone to join in the fun  What works for me is to sleep in the early evening and I can do this on the bus home from work. It usually allows me to concentrate in the evening.[/quote]

Well, according to dictionary.com:

Quote:
tr.v. Computer Science in·put·ted, or in·put in·put·ting, in·puts
To enter (data or a program) into a computer.

So, typing would be a major form of inputting, yes.

I don't need to sleep very long to feel refreshed; today I slept 5-6 hours and I'm fine now. But it is very difficult for me to get out of bed in the mornings and I tend to stay up almost all night (4 or 5 in the morning is when I typically go to bed).

Something about waiting lists for hangings, I suppose

I've had Insomnia for a couple of weeks, until Wednesday Night. Now things are back to normal and I've slept for 8 to 10 hours three nights in a row. I just hope that I can keep up the Sleeping.

I have to take medication in order to sleep, or else it will take me half the night to fall asleep.

When I was a very small girl and in nursery school, my mother demanded that the nursery teachers not make me take a nap...the reason being is that if I napped during the day, I would NEVER sleep at night.

Apparently, as a small child, I had problems staying in bed when Mother put me down for the night, so Mother would sit out in the hallway in front of the door of my room with the news paper, and would holler at me to go back to bed whenever I tried to escape.

I also have a difficult time waking up in the morning. But once I'm awake, it doesn't take long for me to get out of bed.

I often have trouble getting a restful sleep. I've never slept much, most of my life. Around the time I was 11, I started staying up all night during the summer because it was easier to sleep when my body forced me to do it. By the time I was 13 or so, I was staying up all night even during the week. It was not unusual to be up 50 hours straight during the school week.

So, in other words, it never really got easier for me. I do sometimes toss and turn so much that I get up out of frustration. I normally go into work at 5 AM, but have gone in as early as 2 AM when I cannot sleep anymore. I find the magic number of sleep hours for me is about 5 or 6, anything more or less than that and I have a bad day (unless I went to sleep from exhaustion, in which case about 10 is good). Having a kid made it a bit easier to sleep, but only because I am that much tired each day... If I make the mistake of consuming caffeine or even something high in sugar within an hour or two of going to bed, I feel strangely compelled to move my legs every few minutes which drives me crazy. Despite knowing this, I still make that mistake every now and then.

I once resorted to taking some of those over-the-counter medications that help you sleep, but I am very afraid of developing an addiction to them.

My sleep patterns are all over the place- sometimes I can sleep for 8 hours and still feel exhausted when I wake up in the morning. At other times I can be up till after 3, and still feel full of energy when I wake up in the morning (admittedly this is rarer).
My most common sleep pattern is staying up far too late because I'm stressed and the kids haven't been asleep long (my eldest has AS too and he never seems to go to sleep much before 11:30). Then I reluctantly drag myself off to bed, sleep badly and wake up feeling like I've not had any sleep at all.
