Back in 5th grade, i stayed home sick from school one day, then when i went in the next day my teacher gave me a page to fill out for the yearbook. Basically a bunch of simple stuff: Name, interestests, stuff like that. Well, even though i was in the "Advanced" class at that time, i was still pretty dumbfounded. In the "Nickname" section, i put a nickname my mom used to call me that that i absolutely hated. Obviously, this little decision has haunted me ever since, even caused many a fight between me and my mom when she would call me that. It might have actually been the biggest hammer hit to the wall that is my family. Even now, obviously not as much as then, it still causes much pain whenever i hear it.

This is the first time ive ever told anybody, wow

The most common things that people make fun of are the stimming and my poor motor skills. People make fun of me for being clumsy and for "being really nervous" (which is what they think I am when I stim), but they also laugh at the way I walk, at my nerdiness and my social awkwardness.

As a result, I try to suppress my stims when I'm around people, which can be very hard and makes me really uncomfortable, and when I'm clumsy in front of someone I feel much worse than when it happens when I'm alone. I'm frustrated enough with not being able to do things right without someone harassing me about it and rubbing it in by making fun of me with others.

Well, I did some very strange things when I was in elementary school, and I never heard the end of them. I do not however feel like discussing them.

People don't always tell me why they're mocking me, but I don't really care. They can all suck a dick, money over b*****s...

Can't say that it's happened.

Through primary school I was called 'weird' all the time. I also remember a group of girls used to make fun of me, and one of my friends tried to talk to them and they said she couldn't talk to them unless she stopped being friends with me.

I get told I look crazy/disturbed when I'm rocking backwards and forwards. I'm a bit touchy about that one due to a particular incident...

At secondary school, people made fun of me because I would stare out of the window in a dream, and made fun of how I'd get angry or not follow instructions. I think maybe other people laughed at me a lot behind my back, but I can't tell. Also, sometimes people I don't really know come up to me and talk to me and I think they might be making fun of me but I'm not always sure.

I'm often strangely 'posh' in how i speak.

A lot of people call white people 'Caucasians' and I've always thought it strange. Is it politically incorrect to say 'white' or something?

I usually get made fun of at work when I take things too literally and translate them directly instead of in the way that they were meant. I poke fun of myself for it, though. My more upsetting tics that usually occur only under extreme duress never get made fun of at work. Except when I can finally calm down enough to let people know it's okay to relax now, usually by saying, "wow, that was an autistic moment, wasn't it?"

My husband tends to treat some of my unconscious tics like severe picking at skin, etc, as a concern. Weird.

Woo hoo! Only 22 more posts until I hit 1000!

The term "Caucasian" comes from the Caucasus mountains in Russia. White people originally came from this area

I used to get made fun of all the time because of my "strange" obsessions. My neighbor's forteen-year-old daughter (who is like a little sister to me) sometimes teases me about them but I don't think she is deliberately trying to be mean. My old neighbors were deeply religious, or at least made a big effort to appear to be. Their kids always gave me hell about my Lion King obsession and pitcualry my fondness for the characters Timon and Pumbaa. When I talked to their mother about their behavior she told me I needed to lighten up and joke along about myself with them. They were always trying to talk me into going to church with them and eventualy succed. The front pew line was packed with teeanagers talking about boys during the service. I thought it would be okay to talk about what I liked but I wanted until after the sermon. I was laughed at and mocked because of my Lion King obsession. These people are the main reason I am not very fond of religious people. At school if people teased or taunted me I would physicaly lash out so people soon stopped.

I guess I was the only one who seemed like someone not worth making fun of. The only insults I ever got were in jest from people just as screwed up as me. Oh, and my mom. I was Rain Man for a good year or so before it got old. Her calling me that was the only reason I saw that movie. :/ She wasn't too far off at the time.
