I'm not anti-NT.
NTs are anti-me.

Personally, I think many Aspies go through something very similar to the stages of grief upon diagnosis before coming to acceptance; one of those stages often is "I'm not just different than everyone else, I'm actually better!". For most, this is a short lived coping mechanism and passes, but some people get hung up on it, presumably because it's comforting to be able to lay all of your problems on other people not understanding you rather than taking responsibility for yourself. To borrow a phrase, it's one of those things I understand without condemning or condoning, though I generally try to nudge anyone so afflicted in the direction of self acceptance, since that's ultimately healthier.

It always happens where when a group of people is oppressed, then there are those in that oppressed group who will dislike, distrust, or resent people with more privilege in that area. The reasons vary, some of them are better reasons than others. But it's a known sociological phenomenon and autistic people are as subject to those as any other kind of people.

Not all non-AS people are bad, but many are just not nice. That's something I can't wrap my brain around. Why would someone treat you with disrespect when you have done nothing to them to deserve it? It's like they have no code of honor or loyalty to anyone but themselves. I don't care for this at all.

I find that the vast majority of people I meet on any given day are teens or pre-teens in older bodies. They are incapable of critical self analysis. There is nothing wrong with them. It's sad, because this is the precise reason they stopped growing.

I guess it's an individual thing. I don't mind so-called neurotypical people on an individual basis. For me it's never, ever, about disliking people as a whole, as a group, of stereotyping them as a conglomeration. Neurotypical people can be just as individual as aspies. I take people as they come.
There is one woman at UNI who I can be as aspie as I like around - the kind of behaviour that would send other people screaming out the door - and she just runs with it. She is neurotypical. Some NTs must just be fine with aspie behaviour, just as I'm fine with some NT behaviour. Just depends on the person.

I agree. Sometimes the dislike of NTs by autistics is going a little bit too far. In that case I tend to defend the NTs against the autistics, because not every NT is nasty. I have generally good experience with NTs. They are very social in most of the cases. They are social, because they consider me as a human with positive and negative traits, but just with some strange perception of things. But communicate with other autistics isn't necessarily a problem either. Depending on the kind of autism, the conversation with the other autistic can be fine or tedious.

I'll go out on a limb and say it's basically immaturity. Which is also why you'll see the occasional thread on here expounding on why people with ASDs are superior beings or the like.

I used to like most everyone. My GF used to call me a cockeyed optimist because I could see the bright side of almost anything, and gave people the benefit of the doubt. Twenty years of rejection and worse have made me bitter and resentful toward NTs, and watching the same thing happen to my son has been crippling. I have never been a fan of the Autistic superiority mentality, and I'm still not. NT society's culture of rejection, overtly or tacitly supported by 99.9% of NTs, taints them by association.

There are, of course, exceptions for decent individuals, regardless of quirks (or absence thereof, as the case may be). Why are there so dratted FEW of them, though? (Decent people, not exceptions. Well, that, too, I guess.)

So, yeah, it's EXPERIENCE that's turned this once gentle soul into a hater.

I don't hate all NTs, they're a massive group and such generalisation is stupid. But, I hate discriminatory people, and the sad fact is that a damn lot of NTs discriminate against us.
