writing a paper about us aspies
Dear Aspi’s united: I am writing a paper which is due officially by November the 5th and I have selected Asperger’s Syndrome as my topic.
I want to know why you think Asperger’s is a significant current topic for you and how it has affected you and you friends and loved ones. I want to know anything negative you have experienced from others (NT’s) by having Asperger’s which is or was quite frequent in your life (lack of friends, bad at communication, hardships with school and studies, being made fun of, creeping people out, etc). In addition to your much appreciated comments, I need to know first names, occupations/studies, and what general area you guys are from i.e. New York City or South Western Kentucky etc. This will give my argumentive paper more strength – I’m more concerned with representing our life and stories to people who don’t know than I am for the grade. Thank You.

Say in the paper that the reason people with AS get picked on/ made fun of, ect. is because NT's fear us. We are able to cut through the BS of small talk and get right to the point. We don't care about little small talk, ect.. This scares NT's. NT's are on the way out, we are the next step in evelotion.
My name's Mark and I'm brand spankin' new to all of this. I'm 48 years old but I've only been an aspie for a few weeks now, not even officially diagnosed yet. Definitely a late bloomer. I got divorced a year ago and have been attempting on-line dating for the last couple of months and I'm pretty discouraged with it. It's just too hard, too much work, like socializing, LoL. However, I've just discovered this site and Aspie Affect. I've interacted a little with one young lady, JulieKitty, and one very young lady, Solidess, and I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. I never imagined socializing could so much fun, so much not like work. It is so nice to just feel free to just be my weird self and to feel so accepted. Now I know what I want, I want an aspie-girl! Now if I could just find one remotely close to my age and within 500 mi. of Tallahassee. Aspie Affect girls, you must post a photo, or at least some profile details. I'm typically available on-line evenings and weekends, and I'm looking forward to more e-socializing with aspies of all ages, sizes, shapes, colors and textures.
-Thanks so much for being here, Mark
Post Script:
Location: Tallahassee
Hobbies and Interests: Hiking, bird watching/listening, and computers
Favorite music: I don’t like listening to music, unless it’s something like Beethoven’s 9th and I turn it up really loud and I do NOTHING else.
Books: A. C. Clarke, especially “Songs of Distant Earth,” “Hidden Value” Harvard Business Press, “Different Like Me” by Jennifer Elder
TV shows/Movies: Enterprise, Two and a Half Man, Remains of the Day
Instrument: I play the piano, but only for the birds.
Family: Mom died on Mother’s day in 1993. Dad’s maybe an aspie, definitely an alcoholic. Brothers 2 and 5 years younger, sister 12 years younger, all NT and I never see them.
Clothing: White cotton button down shirts, ideal for Florida. I tried a blue one once, I didn’t look as good.
How did I find this website? Link at http://www.orgsites.com/fl/tallahassee_ ... index.html
Job: Half-time Senior Library Assistant
Plans for the future? What plans? Life is what happens to you while you’re making other plans.
Update: In August I became employed full-time at the FSU Library. I'm participating in an inventory of the collection, more than a million items. Should take 5-7 years. Boring, tedious, monotinous work for which I am ideally suited.
Update: We had dinner together in a noisy happenin' place. She's pretty hot, but she likes to talk a lot. Nothing more came of it.
There has been some name-calling on this site. Some have characterized me along the lines of dirty old man, pedophile, creep. Since coming here, I've been more surprised by the similarities between aspies and NTs than the differences.

Sorry Ken if it's seems like I'm constantly picking on you, but I'm afraid out views are often in opposition...like this time.
>>the reason people with AS get picked on/ made fun of, ect. is because NT's fear us<<
They don't fear us - we are seen as inferior, awkward, inadequate, weird and limited . Not something to be afraid of - if anything it's the other way around. But then again. it's not anything, really.
>>We are able to cut through the BS of small talk and get right to the point We don't care about little small talk, ect. This scares NT's. <<
Actually, it would seem that alot of us care - at least to fit in or be able to maintain an acceptable social life. Peopel who can't back up thjis inability by leading us to believe that that's the way they want it. The problem is that small talk is hard for some, and some of those some try to dismiss the things that they are not stong at as useless and not needed.
>>NT's are on the way out, we are the next step in evelotion<<
haha kind of sounds like X-Men 3, Magneto.

It's not that hard. If you know a lot about the subject matter, then you should be able to write a decent paper.

Who is shelby or is it that you have an obsession with your job - like the famous aspi guy in New York City back in the 80's who loved the subway system so much, that he would pretend to work for them and even fix the subways and stop them - which he was sent to jail for say 19 total times and even went to a mental institution for several years.

Explain in your paper that Ken is the Aspergers version of Magneto
