I hate going to the hairdressers. I'm good at cutting men's hair, so my husband and dad never need to go to a barber, but I wish someone could do the same for me. The whole experience for me is torture:
- sitting with my head backwards in the sink, feeling like I'm going to choke
- water that's too hot or dripping down my neck
- seeing myself talking in a mirror
- then the cut, which is quite often too short, as my hair is really curly and they often forget to allow for it bouncing up
- weird conversation with someone who I would never normally speak with or an uncomfortable silence
- the hairdryer, which is too hot and burning my ear, it must be destroying my hair
- paying - if more than one person has dealt with me, who do I tip, how much, what if I don't have enough change?
I go once or twice a year.
