Case of Shifting Ability's?
First off I probable should tell my parents about this but I wanted some opinions first.
So anyway here is the problem (or it could not be a problem). For all my life I have been incredibly good at math (I mean look at an algebra problem and just KNOW the answer good). But lately something weird has been happening. Well first we have to go back to when I was 9.
When I was 9 it has been a year from when my mom tells me I have asperger's. When I started to read about people who may have had it (ex. Albert Einstein) I briefly saw a part talking about Temple Grandin. It talked about her thinking in pictures. I thought (like most people) "what the heck does that mean" (which based on what I am going to tell you is ironic). Fast-forward a year later I started to gain significantly better visualization skills. Before I had very bad visualization skills. As time went by my visualization skills got much better (but it came so slowly that I did not realize it until recently). The reason that that I just started to realize is because now my visual thinking is getting really good but at the cost of declining verbal and pattern thinking ability's. No I am not joking. I never realized it because it was so slow.
But now it has been increasing in rate. Math subjects that were very easy a few weeks ago are getting almost impossible now. And I have began to analyse the shapes of things and think-up 2d and 3d art (which I can't make because of poor motor-control skills).
I'm not sure if I should be worried or not. At the current moment my thinking is about 25% verbal, 35% pattern and 40% visual and it is becoming more visual fast.
So anyway here are my questions:
1. HAS ANYONE BEEN GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING (BIGGEST QUESTION)
2. Does anyone know what it is
3. Also does anyone know a way to make art if you have horrible motor-control (because I really want to get some ideas down (and I get mad if it does not match my vision for it))
If you have any answers and post them than thanks.
I have some ideas for Question 3.
If you want to make art but don't do well with pencils and paper, maybe you could try markers because they dont require very much pressure to make a mark. Crayons are also good if you can press hard enough to make a mark.
I would also use as large a sheet of paper as possible, like poster sized so that you can put your entire idea on the page or branch out with your ideas next to each other. Paper can be really difficult if it is too small.
Thirdly, if those are not an option, I love the art of collage making where you cut or tear pictures colors and words from magazines and newspapers, and then arrange them to make your vision and glue them down with rubber cement or something like that.
I hope these ideas help you get started in the direction you want to go, let us know how it goes.

Another idea for 3 is to maybe learn some computer art. Things like Photoshop are available. GIMP is what I use and it's completely free.
There's tons of YouTube tutorials. I love editing photographs. But you can learn all sorts of stuff.
Computer art my not be traditional art but its still art. ![]()
