People pointing out my "emotions"
Yeah people do that to me as well. The "whats wrong?" always gets annoying because half the time they dont even care. I learned "whats wrong?" is code for "what the hell is up with you?". Majority time there is nothing even wrong with me, I just dont walk around pretending to be happy and chatty unless I feel like it. Unlike everyone else.
That happens to me too I might be concentrating on something and someone would say what's wrong.
Yes, this! I don't really have people telling me that I look happy or bubbly or chatty today. I do, however, often get the, "What's wrong? You look upset," or "Come on, smile!" annoyances. I'm just thinking, I'm not upset. I'm too lost in thought to notice what face I'm making. Is that a problem? I suppose it is now, since you just broke my train of thought for nothing.
And yet, I can't understand what makes my "neutral" face look so "sad" to others. Am I supposed to smile all the time? Wouldn't I look like an insane, Cheshire Cat if I did that? Will that please people? Will that make them stop assuming I'm upset when I'm actually fine? Is there a middle ground between smiling and my current neutral face? If there is, I can't seem to find it. Even more, I don't understand why no on else gets picked on for looking neutral. My expression looks the same as theirs...
You know what's also awful? When you're completely calm, you say something in a tone that you think is normal, and somebody tells you, "Calm down." Calm down? At what point was I not calm? Don't tell me to calm down when I'm perfectly relaxed. In fact, just because you told me to calm down, now I'm NOT calm! Now I'm pissed! I was all fine and dandy a moment ago, but you had to go and assume I was upset when I wasn't. How would you like it if I assumed everything YOU were feeling, AND got it wrong? Why is it okay for people to do that to us? Why do people think we're crazy when we get so upset over it? It isn't fun being misunderstood, especially when the presumption is that we are angry, sad, impatient, or something else negative.
Everybody in the world has problems to solve regardless of who or what you are. Everybody gets annoyed at something at sometime.
The key is learning to deal with your negative emotions in social situations and on your own.
A person who is often told they look happy or bubbly is a much easier person to make friends with.... Its a good trait and a compliment.
If someone askes you whats wrong... Just calmly tell them if there is or isnt...or ask what made them ask. Dont take offence to it. Seems like some people here think if someone askes you whats wrong its negative. Its not.
When there is something wrong and you dont have the nerve to say what it is wouldnt you liketo be asked to get the option to tell.
With so much confusion about facial signs it has to be a good thing to be told what your expressions are giving off so you can understand everyone elses.
