...Addressing both jc and Max , reading your post have got me a bit down , as I was down last night , I am sorta up now , but , reading you has me feeling defensive/angry-hurt/down , I will say maybe less than I was going to say , but:
Max may be being " ironic/literal " in suggesting that it's wonderful - neat , mnyway - to be committed .
Do you know what my '80-on experience was <sob> ?????
If jcq means " commit yourself " , NO ! !! !! !! !! !!
Otherwise , I told you (Maybe not clearly enough .) that it's - harder , anyway - do to the " getting some treatment by going through the hospital ER like I did before " , I don't reject going to the hospital here entirely , not at all , and I don't think I said that above in this line (I'm not re-reading it now , however .) .
Two things that could really help me , say , would be:
Having help in getting that techically still working (It still indicates so and I put new minutes in it before it started f***ing up .) phone working ~ Then I could both make phone calls and be reached .
Helping me in getting my money back from that other cell phone , the totally no good phone that that 7-11 sold me (which I still have bothe the phone itself and the receipt for) , which would help me in getting some cash , I am still damaged by not getting that money that didn't come pout of the ATM , it in itself was was about 23% of my month's SSD and , though not that much , getting my money back for that NG phone would sure help some...I could get some more clothes readily , say (it is quite cold .)...( With the distance to places , my heavy stuff and bad feet , and San Jose being very spread out some rides could help too...)
These bits of " helping-me-help-myself " would not involve another person giving me their money of having me move in with them (That is a humorous example of what they WOULD NOT involve , to spell this out 100% , maybe that ol' " Aspie inability too recognize irony/sarcasm " may come in here .) , and would help - But that's not a TV-movie fantasy of a " Mary Poppins of the looney bin " who would solve all my problems in two commercial breaks if I would just sign my life over to her , is it ? Bah . " Nobody is interested in the first five miles "...If I had been a recognized-early Akid and grown up with " nice "" instutional/theraputic " people , pehaps I'd be less crusty/" go away ! !! !! !! !! " but I've been through what I've been through , and I DON'T have a lot of stuff/contacts...........

Again a social worker could help you with all of these problems. Thats their job. But they can't help you, if you don't go see them.

Again, about 80% of your post was incoherent and made absolutely no sense reading it. I really don't understand what you're trying to say. I just keep reading about you rambling on about a cell phone and some other random stuff. You don't need a lot of contacts or a cell phone to get help. You go to the hospital and get sorted out medically there by the doctors and maybe can be hooked up with some services or support groups, housing etc...

I'm not sure if English is your first language, but you need to type a bit less and attempt to make it a bit more coherent during our conversation, otherwise we can't help you if we can't understand you. You just need to commit yourself, I know you don't want to but you act like they are going to harvest your kidneys and sell them on the black market, this isn't the case. This is a new day and age in medicine, and whatever they did to you in the 1980's has nothing to do with what happens now in public hospitals. Go get help man and stop worrying about cell phones.

edit: I wish someone from WP lived right near ASS-P so they could find him and try to get the guy some help because he won't listen to us here.

Unfortunately if you look through the old threads about him, others have done exactly that. They met up with him, they gave him money, they tried to hook him up with social workers, and it doesn't seem to have done any good. He has apparently been avoiding mental health services for the last 30 years. Probably nothing is going to make him change his mind and go now.

...I could use help in getting my cellphone working .
I could use help in getting money back for that other , totally non-working , cellphone .
I could use rides in getting to medical - social worker (I do not say no to that , however , I say no to " committing myself " , which seems to contradict the assertion that " it's almost impossible to get committed nowadays " . Again , if you would like a Throrazine-Mellaril holiday , go ahead , seek one out .) - whatever appointments .
If the third - the rides , seems too much , help with the cell phone and getting money back for the hunk of junk non-phone would be helpful .
Instead , you fantasize about (no doubt looking like Julia Roberts) magical loony-bin types who will somehow solve everything for me - Which , of course , means no effort from you ! !! !! !! !! !!
And why don't you try going through what I've been through re: loonybins before you tell me how wonderful thet are ? " 'Vas you dere , Charlie ?" . I think not .
" Nobody is interested in the first five miles " - meaning , nobody wants to be involved in non-glamorous , incremental , things :( . Oooh , they might HELP , but THAT doesn't matter  ! !! !! !! !! !!

Again, incoherent and rambling about cell phones. Feel bad for you man, really do. You are clearly very mentally ill but refuse help, its sad to see.

I'm really new hear so I don't know most your story ass-p. I will say I was committed a couple years back. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks. It was a turning point in my life. Up till then I thought it was me against the world. I found out I was wrong. They set me up with a doc, nurse, counselor, and a case worker. Really helped me get on my feet again and taught me some coping skills. I have no regret ever committing myself. At first, yes I was scared, and anxious and afraid what they would do to me. It was all unwarranted, I was treated better there then any place I have ever lived.

Please seek help, they don't bite, promise.

Jcq1 and his TV-movie fantasies of Happy Loony-Bins That Will Make Everything Right For You can go , well , fu- 8)
How much of a f*****g , again , idiot is jcq126 ,that he didn't understand me ?????????
Loony-bins just pump you full of Thorazine , etcetera (or whatever the Latest Big/Miracle Drug is) , certainly if you're me :( , maybe you had some nice support behind you , Sara , and some needed " status " and something " to go back to " , in medical persons' eyes . I don't :cry .:

Yes, that is what she is saying. It helped her, and it can help you too, but you have to want to get the help.

No. Mental health services. It's a way for you to get help and get your life straightened out, so you are not living on the street. If you don't seek the help, nothing will ever change.

...S I wasn't small-m molested by that attendant putting his hand on my bare stomach , right ? Or , " I enjoyed it " ------- RIGHT ?????????
MOney and help would (meaning such as help with getting me phone working , getting those money things of mine cleared up , etc.) help me be non-homeless . Not more being forced to take Thorazine and Mellaril and being held down ! !! !! !! !!
Oh , yes , and having an attendant put his hand on my stomach .

Have you checked out some of the homeless shelters in San Jose such as CityTeam?
