I read someone's comment in YMBAAI saying that there's a connective tissue link in aspies. I can't find anything on it on the net, so I'm turning to the "experts"! Any knowledge would help.

I've heard lax joints or loose joints are a common occurance. I'm kindda double jointed in my hands in that I can bend them in all sorts of weird ways.

What about double jointedness? Here's a few things I can do;

-Bend my thumb RIGHT round the opposite way,
-Make my second, third and fourth fingers go crooked
-Bend my wrist forward so that the thumb of it touches the wrist with no gap beneath it
-Point my toes so far that they point a tiny bit backwards
- dislocate all my fingers, and my knees and shoulders
- make all the fingers on my hands bend up and back
- turn my knees sideways and up slightly
- make my mouth look like Wallace's out of Wallace and Gromit
- Go into full lotus position

Could this have anything to do with the connective tissue?

Double jointedness is the same thing as lax joints I think, but I'm not 100% sure on that so don't quote me :) I can bend my fingers at the fingertips
I can bend my wrist way back
My thumb goes in all weird directions
All this stuff makes my family go all crazy and then they tell me to stop :?
My family just dosn'ty appreciate me for all the neat aspie tricks I can do :lol:

:) Ok I do that too! Or should say I used to cause now I'm old and getting pretty stiff. But I have this disease and was curious as to whether it was a link to the aspie thing as in genetics. Suppose not but I have to explore everything til I'm exhausted and from all angles. BTW.... I was sooooo relieved to find out I was aspie! I am sleeping better and my outlook is much better. I'm a real snot and I don't care now! LOL!
