I think that could be useful as showing the hierarchy of who gets valued in certain communities.

Certainly not useful if taken seriously as a good guideline of how to value people though.

I've been diagnosed as a few things on that list. Looks like nearly every way, I'm pretty inferior according to some people's screwed-up standards. But I already knew that.

The list of hierarchy was rather snobby. What type of list was that anyway? Is it for intelligence? Is it for all around superiority? If it is then it's ridiculous. There are different kinds of intelligence too. What about emotional or social intelligence? We wouldn't be so high on the list then. People can keep lists like that if they want, but they shouldn't expect anybody to like them.

Uh, hmmm... I think that I have one of those here. That sounds *just* like him...he also runs around making random and repetitive sounds for no good reason. (Is doing things very spontaneously without even pausing to think about the results or consquences that might ensue part of this??) However, he makes better grades than his older, aspie-leaning brother, and is consistently more helpful and warmer hearted, and extremely optimistic and ful of enthusiasm. His brother could make straight A's if he wanted to...but like many of us, he apparently sees no point in it and lacks organizational skills. Additionally, the younger of the two is very socially adept and popular with almost anyone.

It all balances out, man.

Okay, now I'm confused. I thought NTs were the ones who cared about social hierarchy and all of that stuff. :?

*gasp* Are you talking about me??? I talk like I have ADD, I'm a social idiot. Wait a sec, I do have ADD!! ! I am NOT focused and intelligent in my speech. How do you focus on speech? I only try when it benefits me. If I focused all the time, I'd mentally exhaust my mind. MY MIND!! ! I am also Sporadic, this post is not in the order it was written, and my thought don't really connect all that well either. Why? Because I'm distracted by Queen. That's right, ...see, lost my thought.

Seriously Neant, nothing wrong with saying random things. I just start talking before I know what I'm going to say or change my thought mid-sentence. Nothing inferior about that, it just menas I think too fast for mouth. Oh, and I've taken Ritalin before. Wow, this post is oozing ADD.

Their is a good reason for those "random" sounds, it's a pattern obsesion thing or he's talking or himself. Or he could be swishing around spit in his mouth, my ADD mom does that when bored at work and so do I. Swallowing spit could be another reason. It could be all of the above. I was a very disruptive child, sitting down was, and sometimes still is, very hard to do when you have ADHD/ADD. My body just itches and I need to fidget.

You have no idea how distracting shi* like that is!! !! AHHHHH!! !! ! When their
s a vidoe playing on the computer or I'm trying to read something, I have to move the mouse pointer offscreen. Even on frinend's computers. It seems so out of place and contrasts so noticiably with everything else I can't help but focus on it. Lines on theatre screens are the worst, ohhhhhhh I CAN"T STAND THOSE!! !! I WANT TO RIDE MY BICYCLE...QUEEN!! !

Not really. I'm actually closer to the two aspie types that I have...but I love them all. I'm just saying, even though the apparently ADD/ADHD son is more of a handful for me, he also has a lot of obvious strengths that both I and my oldest son lack, strengths which should count for something on that danged list.

I don't think any heirarchy should be applied to anything, anywhere, anytime.

Just because someone is more skilled than you does not make them superior to you.

I could go on, but I really can not be bothered.

uh, that's the stereotype. and the fact a person can't concentrate on certain things doesn't mean they're not smart or intelligent, or that they can't concentrate on other things. ADD and AS are VERY similar and often people have both. and you can't measure a person's intelligence by what freekin syndrome they posess.

like...honestly

Personally, I don't think that this list is a good idea because people in history have caused great catastrophies by making one race or difference superior than other people; like the Nazis in WWII or the attempted genocide in Rwanda.

I find it tends to save time rather than pass it, making it doubly valuble.

NeantHumain, if this thread was merely to spark conversation, I don't think it's working. Perhaps you could retract your original post?

If it was meant as a troll, then it is working, though I can't say I'm enjoying the result.
