As A Kid, Did You Ever Play Games Against Yourself?

Occasionally. Usually i just played one-player games, usually on the gameboy or playstation. or use games for other things. like make patterns with connect 4 and build things with the jenga blocks

I used to play Dungeons and Dragons all by myself... I know this sound strange, but I could spend an entire afternoon creating a Lvl 20 character and then "putting him into practice" by simulating a battle agaisnt hundreds of orcs.

I occasionally play tic-tac-toe by my self,

usually when I am bored.

Connect 4 forever!...

I often played board games by myself as a kid.
Funny thing... I've never heard about others who did this before. Quite amazing, in fact, that so many people in here have done the same thing!
As for me, it was part of imagining that I had someone, a friend or so, who would want to play with me.

I am 20 and often play chess and othello against myself.
I never really thought about it before.

Heck, I still play board games against myself.

I still play games against my self.

I love a good game of me vrs me in Seen It.

When I was about ages 9 to 13, I liked to play board games by myself. That way, I could decide every step of the game, and not worry about winning or losing. My parents, however, discouraged this, and in all honesty, I don't blame them. Now, I laugh a little when I look back on this, but being an aspie, what could I do?

I'd make up my own rules to backgammon or checkers and then play them against myself. I still haven't a clue how to actually play backgammon, and the last time I played checkers, a 5-year old beat me fair and square.

Mostly I made up pretend-play scenarios that only I understood and that only I could play.

Is the penny game a reference to a specific game that properly exists, or something you made yourself?

One of my weirdest hobbies as a kid was making up rules for games (theoretically multiplayer, but I always played every side) using loose change, then finding the most efficient way to play them. Up till about the age of 8 everyone thought it was a healthy sign of an active young mind (or whatever the pseudo-power words of the time were), and then suddenly it was considered strange and unhealthy, so I stopped letting people know I invented my own games.

My Aspie sons play lots of games against themselves: chess, Yugi-oh, Pokemon, connect 4, snap etc etc

I was/am very much into very very complicated military/political simulations. Since this isn't a common interest, I'd often play them solitaire. I can't say that this is an AS thing, since it's very hard to find partners for this sort of game.
